Got 5 hours tonight which is plenty after that amazing game last night.

I think I found out the problem MaTT. I was met a chick at the bar last night who is going to be a doctor. She said my problem does not really sound like a medical problem. She thinks what I am experiencing is learned behavior. Apparently, at some point, my body learned to deal with less sleep even with alcohol. She said I should try staying in bed even though I am not sleeping. We'll see how that works.

i think she's right but there's more to the story. you're also getting too worked up about waking early and you're not letting yorself relax enoiugh to go back to sleep. try doing some mindfulness meditation when you wake early so youi don't get caught up in a lot of negative thinking. there are some good books about it by a guy named jon kabat-zinn. here's one possibility: http://www.amazon.com/Full-Catastrophe-Living-Wisdom-Illness/dp/0385303122/sr=8-2/qid=1167578045/ref=pd_bbs_2/105-4157873-5809260?ie=UTF8&s=books

You guessed right. I was at a house party in Brooklyn for New Years. Had a decent amount of Vodka and went to bed around 4am. I was up at 7! But I wasn't the only one. 3 others were up at the same time with me. I think this was an isolated incident. I'm going to try meditating next time. Thanks for the advice.
