Both those shooting percentages are perfectly possible on any given night. Makes no difference what his season average is.

Melo shot .421% throughout the ENTIRE SEASON last year and also .409% from 3PT range last year so I'm sorry but an average of ".266%" was an extreme example of Melo's shot "falling off a cliff" etc.

And I disagreed with it.

Because Melo only had 14 games last year of .266% or lower in comparison to 55 games above ".266%"

And also 44 games of above .400% from the field so please lets stop with extreme examples of Melo negativity (in regards to him coming off the bench as a ROLE PLAYING ROLE PLAYER).

He also shot .417% during the playoffs and .378% from 3PT during the playoffs during his 6 games but yet no mention of that while supporting that awful example of ".266%"?

Sorry but I strongly disagree with the both of you. Because it was an awful "example" when 4/6 of his playoff games were also @ +.417%.

Regular Season/Playoffs combined he had 48 games of above .400% from the field so yes that ".266%" "example" was a crap one (imo).

Melo can still play this game of basketball and coming off the bench? As a role playing role player? To provide coach Thibs with instant fire power off the bench? I'd love to see it (especially since we'd have a #1 NBA Defense backing him up).

Melo would want too many fga. He had his time on the Knicks. Good 1 year pretty bad all others( team wise). Let him finish out in Portland. We have players who need to develop

I don't know. He's played his ass off for Portland for 2 seasons, they wont give him much more than the minimum, and his Rose/ Thibs connection is decades old. LBJ doesnt want him in LA I think.

I don’t think we’re trading Obi. While it’s 99.9% lock Randle won’t be traded or even shopped this summer it’s possible we might be trading him next February at the deadline

Well that would be to take minutes away from our youth as we make the push for Finals, you know, to put us over the edge because we are one player away obviously.

Don't we need a point guard to set up our bigs? Of course not, we need a one-on-one player who doesn't play D.

Yes. He's one of the greatest basketball scorers of All-Time and one of the smartest NBA scorers of All-Time too (never had to rely on athleticism).

Carmelo Anthony coming off the bench and as a veteran leader and mentor for Obi Toppin @ PF would become pretty damn awesome (as a role playing role player).

Who cannot seem to find playing time ? That's Obi Toppin. If we add Melo that creates a logjam. Melo cannot play the 3 because he is like 6O years old already and cannot guard anyone at the small forward position. Our top draftee this year is also a 3. So Melo would be taking playing time and development away from Grimes if he ever is a part of a large lineup.
When it comes to Thibs that's exactly what I am afraid of, him being a veteran coach who took away development from Frank and Obi( although we saw Obi+Randle together at the end of our playoff run) and even to a lesser degree Quickley. So adding a geriatric player like Melo at the one position that we have a logjam already at is not a good move.
