I like both moves. Knicks out performed all expectations this year. You can't come back the following year getting rid of half the team.
Neither is a splashy signing, but keep continuity. Bring back Rose, use 25mil to try to build upon the foundation.
I want Mitch to have that competition from Noel and keep clutch time Burks for the big moments. Good buys, not goodbyes.

Would have preferred Bullock over Noel. Glad we got Burks back though. He was difference maker in several games. Some forget how we struggled when he was hurt.

Who you got to man the middle?

It was unlikely that both were coming back. I had Bullock slotted higher on the priority list, but Burks might be more of priority if they know Rose is leaving.

Why you have to create a duplicate Fournier thread and make me lock yours?
Knicksfan wrote:WTF people?!We were one of the worst teams in the league before our turnaround last season. Noel and Burks were a huge part of that. They both deserved their contracts and are still valuable with those contracts. Saying you stay mediocre with these moves, when they are the start of FA and they actually show the Knicks are run differently now, valuing their own before keeping improving the team, this is all great news.
I know many are bitter we didn’t sign Lonzo, which I wanted as well. In this office we’ll trust, because there has to be a reason they moved in another direction. Thibs earned the right to build his team with this office and they seem set on doing so.
This is just the start, and it’s great that the start tells the rest of the league that we are loyal to the players that give their all to us in becoming the best team possible.
Many are bitter? I wouldn't go that far. From what I've read on this forum, there's only a few who disagree...a few who agree...the rest are waiting until they are done to see the big picture....that would be me.
So far, it looks like we definitely upgraded the team from last season. The question is is it enough to make it to the second round? When all the FA smoke clears.

Mitch with Taj as backup. Preferred that money go to help sign an upgrade in PG. But Rose signing puts that to bed.

So like last year but without Noel starting for 40 games and Taj and then who backing him up?
Mitch and Taj just aint enough

Considering Mitch has a tough time being healthy, you may be right. Was trying to be positive. Still, an upgrade at PG or getting another max would have affected the win total more than a backup defensive center and Rose. imo.
Between Noel and Rose , $25M for three years just went away.

The details of this contract make it a steal.
with Mitches foot he could be a question mark both this season and going forward. Mitch has yet to demonstrate any offense game outside of the local YMCA. this is the type of contract he should be getting. Capella was a polished and tested entity.
Noel was needed and if Sims produces as a back Mitch could be trade fodder if healthy.
We have until October to extend Mitch??

I'm an okay player and I've never played with a guy who can finish off pick and rolls like Robinson can, which IS an offensive skill. a very useful one he's very good at, in fact.
Mitch Robinson was a second round pick that makes less than $2m.
The frustration and resentment that's apparent that he hasn't (yet) blossomed into a more diversified offensive threat just says soooo much about sports fandom.
