He ain't no "3PT shooter" dude.

The most 3's he's ever made during a single season is 173 (2019-2020).

You've got dudes out here like Duncan Robinson (270), Dame (275), Klay (276), Buddy (282), Paul George (292), Harden (378), Steph (402).

This bum ain't no "3 PT shooter" he's a freaking scrub who's never helped his teams WIN!

F-.

I understand NYKMentality frustration. No one was expecting Fournier to be our big take away this off season.

Knicks biggest need, imo, was a starting PG and we walk away with a slightly better offensive player Than Bullock.

Who were you expecting?

knicks1248 @ 8/2/2021 8:36 PM
So we need to sign Dinwiddie, reggie or Schroder and it would be a decent off season

He shot 41% from 3 last year.

If I recall, that was his split with Boston.

Incremental improvement is fine but not when you lock in overpayments for mediocre players for 4 years/78 mil.

4th year is a team option and his contract is very tradeable. No one is locked into anything.

Which one? I wanted Ball pretty bad back in March until I realized he is not a Tom Thibodeau type of PG. There isnt.one out there in FA except to trade for Sexton, and when they drafted Mcbride, that went out the window.

#1 available salary cap within all of the NBA.

And we walk away with "Evan Fournier" as our big fish.

Not even a top 60 NBA player?

I'm so tight right now. I'm more than pissed off. I'm disgusted.

Relax. This was a very weak FA class. Some of the premier FA were too old or didn't fit this team. This is about plugging holes and incremental improvement. My only issue so far is keeping Burks ND letting Bullock walk.

Nah. I won't "relax" I've been relaxing since 1985.

I'm fkn pissed off.

#1 available salary cap space and we waste it on "Fournier"?!?!?

Should've just saved our cap space because we're probably going to have CRAP for cap space next offseason.

Perhaps kissing some olympic team ass some more will make you feel better?

Ps....I like the signing.

Clean @ 8/2/2021 8:40 PM
People who did not expect EF to be our signing who did you expect? There was not a lot of options this year.

I recall you saying the Knicks will never attract top level FAs?
So which PG were you expecting? Lowry? Sure he want to win. CP3? Family in LA. Who?

I’m curious to see the details of Bullock’s deal.
CleaverGreene @ 8/2/2021 9:06 PM
Decent player.

Not known as a defender, but I haven't studied him too much.

For what it's worth, he's like Bullock in that he appears to be a good teammate & understands team ball (He's not a prima donna), which is what Thibs is attempting to establish here. I will assume he thinks Fournier's D is good enough. I also think that even though he's relatively young, he will be good support for our younger players.

What no MJ on that list?

Other than Duncan, no one mentioned was available? Btw...What would you have offered for Duncan? Has to be a FU number that Miami does not match and one that makes DR leave the place he is most comfortable with? Not to mention state tax.

Jmpasq @ 8/2/2021 9:29 PM
Is this a 3 or 4 year deal for Courtney Lee?
TPercy @ 8/2/2021 9:36 PM
I'm in my typical overreact to nothing phase but I'm not pleased. At all
Chandler @ 8/2/2021 9:47 PM
he wasn't my first choice but i think he will greatly expand the offense

RJ EF and Julius all pass very well for their position. They also can all create their own shot. As much as I liked bullock he could do neither. He was essentially just a spot up shooter and frankly not that good coming off screens.

now we just need to upgrade at pg from Elf and we'll be much more improved. Elf was another bum with the ball, plodding, indecisive. Our playmaking will take another step up with even an average point guard and there's no way we won't improve on shooting by swapping out elf.

Our offense is going to be much more dynamic this year

Chandler @ 8/2/2021 9:52 PM
also don't get hypnotized by a guy's shooting %. RJ shot 40% last year. DO you think he's a sniper? He's not. He just played smarter and is taking less bad shots. Great for him and for us, but let's not mistake him for Damian or Steph

Fournier's shooting % is respectible but you also have to assess his release too. IF he limited himself to just taking wide open threes with his feet set his % would improve just like RJ's but that's not what he was asked to do -- especially in Orlando.

He will be a very good complementary player for us. We will be a deeper team by resigning burks, noel and rose

these are very good points. Bullock was better on ball and generally just covering his man. When i think of EF i think of "heady" defense more likely to jump a passing lane, taking away a guy's dominant hand etc.

we will take a hit on D, but he'll be much better for us on offense. With modest, achievable upgrade at pg we'll have 4 guys starting who can dribble, pass, create, and shoot at all three levels

Yeah it was DeRozan and/or one of these PGs like Schroder.
