That’s the next question
Do we buy another vet in free agency with exception?
I think they will start Rose. IQ should start. Play Rose, Mcbride/Grimes on the 2nd unit with Burkes

I forgot about luka. I don’t want Rose starting. Chemistry is awful. Great in unit 2
Why would a 2nd round pick start at PG?
Why would Rose not start? Do not think Rose got $15M to come off the bench. Which is my question. Is Rose a $15 starting PG. Rose/Perry thinks so.
Rose was playing over 30 mins per the last couple weeks of the season and in the playoffs. He is starting.

He's not, he thrived in the role we had him in, and when he started we loss the last 3 games..
Was hoping for Devonte Graham but he signed with the Pelicans.
Quickly or Burks can fill that role maybe.

Seems that way. I wonder, though, if they consulted this idea with him. I mean, wasn’t he set on being more of a bench player now? Did anything change and re-energize him to shoot for the starting lineup? This makes no sense unless they really set themselves for Rose as a starter.
Wow...I was getting to comfortable with this playoffs thing. Hello 8th overall pick, my old friend...
I think they resign Alfred at 30% of last year's salary.

Lol. Payton is going to have pay the Knicks to resign him.
Seriously though, I hope they are not resigning Payton. In Luca and McBride, we have two guys that we should give those minutes to.
I hated Rose starting vs. Atlanta because I love him as a sparkplug off the bench.
I hope we start Immanuel Quickley. Kid drained over 100 3's as a Rookie, has a beautiful floater, made an NBA All-Rookie team and also a team USA Select selection. Sky could be the limit for this kid with a Steph Curry type of game to him.
Continue developing his passing ability, court vision and playmaking ability and we could have ourselves a future All-Star @ PG for many of years to come because it's not easy to become the SEC Player of the Year @ Kentucky; which is what he did.
So yeah I'm disheartened we missed out on the likes of Lonzo Ball, CP3 and Kyle Lowry but maybe now it's Immanuel Quickley who gets to become the beneficiary of it all.
I love this kid man.
IQ
Rose is what he is now. 20-25 minutes off the bench

Rose is a 6th man now. His days starting at PG are over. The hawks series showed it
I think something else is in the works. As many point out, Rose is excellent as a 6th man. But it’s also evident that the team plays so much better when he is on the floor because he is the best balance between playmaking and penetrating that we have.
So right now, even if he is best as a 6th man, Rose has to be our starter. IQ, unless he has been working on his playmaking and we will see in Summer League, he is also stronger as the man coming in with Rose off the bench. Which means that right now the hopes is of either Vildoza or Deuce being better in playmaking than IQ that they can claim the starting nod. Considering we started Payton for so long, it wouldn’t be a shocker to see one of them start if they show their worth.

Something else is probably in the works. Or Thibs said he's comfortable with IQ or Burks starting at PG with Rose off the bench until they can land a Lillard or Fox level player via trade. But smart money seems to indicate Knicks might be trying to grab Jalen Brunson from Dallas too.
I think Rose is starting with IQ off the bench. I don't see a 2nd round rookie starting unless he shows up as all world defense in training camp and preseason. Not impossible, but that's what we'd need to see...
