Love Kemba for 10mm and no cost.
Nothing like over reactions to something until its finished then go “oh”.

WE drafted two guards and signed Vildoza. WE shed Frank, Bullock and get Fournier and Kemba.
We’re are better. Not contending. Not until RJ shows massive upside but that is on the table.
The Starphuch is not the only way. Just because you don’t read it does not mean things won’t or do happen.
The aggregate of small things is how you turn a franchise around.

I know TT isn't a fan of load management but I'm hoping the improved depth means there's flexibility to at least reduce Randle's minutes a bit. I'd rather see him at 30-32 rather than 38 to keep him fresh. I would also like to see Rose and Kemba not play in back to backs. We gotta be healthy for the playoffs!

Agree. No 8 man rotations with this roster. Rose and Kemba won’t survive an 82 game season like that

We just went from a 4 seed to a 1-3 seed right alongside of Milwaukee and Brooklyn because we were always a true All-Star PG in his prime away from truly contending.

We're contenders now.

I still think we end up as a 4-6 seed which is fine. Key is to remain competitive

4-6 range is a nice goal for this team. Keep in mind, most of the lower teams improved....I think ATL will be the same or better.

jskinny35 @ 8/4/2021 8:52 PM
I think we're more like a 6-7th seed as I really think the Bulls and Charlotte will take a step up next season. Remember we were pretty close to being a 8th seed last year and it's unknown if our offseason will advance us or simply keep pace.

I think before Kemba the play in was the likely landing spot. Now, they are a solid top 6 team with a much better chance of beating a top tier team in the playoffs.

I believe he was just overwhelmed in the playoffs being it was his first time and no one else step up

Should be a little easier on Randle with some supporting cast members. Expect some stat regression as the ball will need to be shared more with Walker and Fournier than it did with Payton and Bullock. But, hopefully the shots he loses are the 18 foot jump shots.

We’re the best fanbase in the nba but people need to chill out if we start next season 4-6.

JesseDark @ 8/5/2021 5:26 PM
the question about Randle is a legitimate one given his not rising to the occasion during the playoffs. There were so many players playing in their first playoffs (Trae Young) and didn't seem bothered cause the stands were relatively packed.

Two different players....Randle needs a Trae Young type PG. Trae is the PG who touches the ball the most and has that ball on a string.

Some players have to go through it 1st, then come back next time showing growth and experience.

I believe Randle will show playoff growth next season. My wild card is RJ. Will this be the year he shows his full potential? And what will IQ look like as a sophomore? He looked real good last season with no nba experience. I think RJ, IQ and Money Mitch will be different makers next season.

knicks1248 wrote:Wasn't able to move up in the draft despite having 2 1st round picks, and wasn't able to attract any top tier talent despite having the most cap space in the NBA.

Still need a PG, still have 2 big man who can shoot beyond 3 feet, and can't really stay healthy.

Even with a Super Star agent as President (who never addresses the fans or Media) and Wes (who's supposed to be one of most connected people in the NBA) they couldn't make any deals or convince any star to come here.

IMO, almost every FA has been overpaid so far with the exception of Payne. The most i would have given CP/Lowery/Ball the exact amount Fournier got, and them dudes were not accepting that.

The most we can hope for is the coaching staff to get to work on RJ IQ, and GRIMES

The continuity is a good thing, and these players definitely fit, but we are not very deep.

Lost faith? Never judge an unfinished piece of work. It’s ok to not understand something incomplete. It looks bad.

gradyandrew @ 8/6/2021 10:58 AM
Rule changes should affect Trae and Harden most. So much of Trae's game is based on drawing fouls hopefully the NBA will enforce the changes come playoffs. If Trae can't jump back into guys and draw a three shot foul that series looks a lot different.

I also wouldn't be surprised if RJ spends some time guarding Trae going forward. He had some words with Trae, he didn't like him celebrating in the Garden. Knicks/ Hawks rivalry will be the big one going forward. Knicks do not believe these guys are better than them.

I agree with the "playoff pressure" factor in addittion to JR likely trying to do too much.

I disagree with the original comments about him not being able to play in front of a crowd. For some reason people seem to forget that there were crowds at games before the pandemic.

I think philly disappoints next year if they don’t trade Simmons. They are 1 1 month embiid injury away from the play-in.

Simmons has cut off all contact with the organization. He wants out. If they don’t trade Simmons and something happens to Embid they’re a 20 win team next season
