I wouldn't have been interested in this at the beginning of free agency, but I also didn't think this is where we'd be.. anyway, I think Oladipo is a fit on this roster. I feel like Oladipo would probably benefit from being around Derrick Rose. I think a one year deal similar to what Burks or Noel got last year probably makes sense, and if Oladipo lives up to the deal he gets a good contact like those two just got

Don't think he's even returning this year. It would have to be two-year deal just to see him on the court for an extended period of time.
when is someone broke enough to be called broke? he's not the victor you're probably remembering. he wasn't that victor even before his most recent injury

Where did you think we would be? Who did you expect us to sign ?

I’d be okay with Bullock deal if that’s the case

This.
He’s just a catch and shoot guy now. He can’t create his own shot or cut to the basket like he used to. Big contract. Not a pg. pass
If he signs a two year deal with Miami at a heavily discounted rate, with a second year player option, would Miami have his bird rights? That would be his best bet. Otherwise, if we were to bring him in on a 1-2 year deal and he reverts to all star form, we would not be able to afford signing him at a market rate later on without his bird rights.
At this point we are stacked with contracts on a 2 yr window so I think if you can structure an incentive laden deal for the short term you can consider him. Is there a Perry connection from Orlando?

he drafted him

Most incentives would still count against the cap. So you either lock yourself up for 3-4 years at a rate that might be elevated for cap purposes (but you actually spend less if he underachieves). Or temporarily rent him on a heavily discounted shorter term contract knowing that would bolt for a team that can offer him more if he makes it back to All-Star form.

I think at this point 2 yrs guaranteed would be a good deal for him given his injuries. Maybe we can go 2 yrs with a 3rd year player option. If he's good he opts out, but he's here in this 2 year veteran window we've created. Would be fine with something like that as a kind of a wild card with the remaining cap space, especially if nothing else works out for the next week or two. I think Oladipo is gonna be on the market for a bit given his injuries as team wills be tentative about making him an offer.
if he was to sign, that just seems to create more of a logjam. i would rather not see a guy trying to get a new contract potentially getting time over guys they may think are long term (rooks, younger guys).
Forget Oladipo as we're getting Kemba

Indeed - I retract this post.. pretty pumped about Kemba
