I believe the roster and depth will look like this
C Robinson/ Noel/ Gibson
PF Randle/ Toppin/ Knox
SF Fournier/ Burks/ Bacon
SG Barrett/ Quickley/ Grimes
PG Walker/ Rose/ McBride
Vildoza is most likely to get waved given the guard depth and Knox is traded eventually either for a more useful defensive forward for depth or a 2nd pick so Sims can move onto the active roster.

Looks about right, but who knows if Bacon makes the roster or not. Maybe Bacon is here as an additional wing/SF because Knox could be on the move and we keep a spot for Sims. Lots could happen once training camp opens. I feel like we shouldn't give up right away on Vildoza, too many people who follow international ball had good things to say. He needs a solid run of minutes and he needs to have the ball in his hands for us to really get a feel for what he brings to the table. I would hate to cut him and have him latch on some where and make a career. Lets get a better look in these last few summer games and in camp and maybe he is a trade candidate. If all he gives is an occasional flashy handle and chuck a bunch of 3's then I'm happy to give up...

The problem with Vildoza is he wasn't good in the olympics and hasn't shown anything in Summer league. If he was 20 it would be different. But i agree, we should give more time.
It makes me laugh how fans go from "Start Luca" (before he ever played a game in U.S.) to "Cut Luca" (after 2 summer games).
Depth is good, but usually teams have depth when they don't have enough at the top of the lineup... no shade, this years team should be the best Knicks team in a long, long time... just pointing out when we had depth and celebrated it was when we had Crawford and Lee and Randolph....

I'm not sure what the deal is with vidoza, but to sign him almost 6 months ago and then cut him without SL and a full training camp, is a sign you don't know what the hell your doing..lol
Great depth AND youth. Plus a number of players that can passably play multiple positions.
AS SupremeCommander suggested, the key is the starting lineup. We've upgraded at 2 positions in terms of talent and versatility. Silver medalist Fournier is basically the French Jordan - "Air France". That guy is basically the best French wing in the NBA... since... ever. He brings much more to the table overall than Bullock. And Kemba obviously bring more to the table than the version of Elfrid we saw last year with the Knicks.
Not only that, we also expect our young players RJ/Quickley/Obi to continue to improve. Knox to a lesser extent.
I think the most relied upon folks on the bench unit will be Rose/Quickley/Burks/Noel/Obi, and I feel pretty good about all of them filling in as starters in the event of injury. Burks/Quickley will be particularly important since they are capable of playing multiple positions. We can handle missed games by 2 players and still operate within this group of 10 (+Taj would definitely be involved if Mitch can't go) without diving deeper into the bench.
If Kemba/Rose both miss games, I'd imagine Thibs would probably go with Quickley/Burks at PG and reduce his rotation to 8, perhaps with a handful of mins dripping down to the next guys.

Agree, but we paid him for last year and my take is the make good of the contract is also that he might not want to be buried not he bench. If so maybe he’d rather just ask for release and can either get picked up by another club or go back to Europe? I think its more not so much as not knowing what your doing but paying for an opportunity and if it don’t pan out both can back out.
Bottom line is Vildoza is not impressing. If we gave a guaranteed contract that for sure does not know what we are doing.
I’d think logically he uses SL as a gauge and then if both are ok he gets to work on aspects of his game in Tarrytown and acclimates to NBA. Or he bails next week with his money and goes back to Europe.

Vildoza definitely wasn't running the point in game 1. Was he at the point in game 2? I missed it.
That's what I'd like to see.
