Knicks · We smoked Presti in the trade (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 8/15/2021 11:13 AM
Rokas and Mcbride for earl.
Caseloads @ 8/15/2021 2:54 PM
they fit our team. presti has so many firsts, he needs to go for home runs on all. we hit a base hit with rokas and mcbride
CleaverGreene @ 8/15/2021 3:25 PM
No sure Presti will see the trade as that black and white.

I love McBride and Rokas, but I think the Thunder probably like how Robinson-Earl has performed so far for them in SL. Not sure how he will perform in the NBA given his limited size for a PF and, I would expect, his lack of speed if he was to play SF, but they clearly liked what they saw of him at Villanova.

I have no actual intel on this but I think they gave us such a good deal because they have too many draft picks. This should be something we revisit every year. OKC has too many draft picks that they can't sign all of them if they make them. Every year they might be willing to give a favorable deal to a team unless a can't miss talent drops to round 2.

Agreed. Anything more than two rookies a year makes it tough for a coach to find court time. Celtics are a good example of having too many picks. Their bench is now a big question mark.

Or we could wait until any of them play an NBA game.

But I bet none of them are a Josh Jackson....

ramtour420 @ 8/16/2021 6:26 PM
Our draft this year is beyond solid. Honestly I don't remember when was the last time we picked 4 players with real potential this late. Yeah, we have IQ and Mitch Robinson. But 4 in one draft? Better get my 🌹 colored glasses
TheGame @ 8/17/2021 6:49 AM
Yeah, that second round trade only makes sense if OKC felt it had too many young players to deal with and there was one prospect they liked that they did not want to take a chance on missing. It was a great move by us because that Rokas kid looks like he might turn into something. McBride dropping is the biggest mystery of the draft. I can only assume teams did not feel his play-making was at an NBA level and his height at only 6-1 is small, but that ignores his wingspan and everything else about his game looks to be at NBA leave (defense, shot-making, handle).

Let’s see how the deal looks once everyone actually has an NBA game under their belt, let alone a full season
xblvdels3 @ 8/17/2021 7:08 AM
Rokas looked like he has game.

Rokas looked like he has game.

All of our picks look like serviceable players minimally by the 👀 test based on summer league.

We shall see.

xblvdels3 @ 8/17/2021 7:13 AM
I Havnt commented as much lately. I (think) im satisfied with the roster and future players.

Goal is to get out of first round or 7 games minimally. The next step is acquire another all star level player next offseason to remove that role from Randle.

I think we we have reached championship contention when Randle is our third option realistically.

It’s going to be a great decade of Knicks basketball 🏀

Presti eating pancakes over Rokas??? LOL
