Both teams made bad executions and as Randle said, preseaon readiness had them going.
Jaylen Out for 10 days and does that? Kudos!
Kemba is the starter and if he feeling it, he finishes. Long season, lets see how it plays out.
What a game!
Respect to the C's. I've always thought Jaylen Brown overrated. Great performance from him...that 3 from the logo in regulation was cold blooded.
I felt Thibs left Walker in so long out of respect, not to pull him in the final moments of his "homecoming" game, and against his former team. Thought the first OT would have given him the excuse needed to put in Rose. Maybe I'm just making excuses, but definitely some questions on that decision.
Fournier is a welcome addition!
Mitch is looking good, a giant leap forward from last week's game.
Obi with well deserved minutes down the stretch of regulation. He's got coach's trust and put on a show too!
RJ salvaged a dud start and Julius was our All Star yet again.
It's going to be a fun year.
I know depth up front is essential and Noel will play, but I love the big man rotation of Randle, Mitch and Obi. Obi at center when Mitch is out just gives them a different look and Obi being used in this open floor role is great. He missed threes but if he just makes a couple here and there he will explode. RJ as a defensive stopper can be a big development. And Fournier brings a different level to this offense. Knicks can’t win a game like this without him. Love what I’m seeing here.
Evan Fournier looks like a great signing , won't drop 30+ every night ...............But he can shoot the rock

No doubt. Super exciting game. One of the most memorable season openers I can recall.
1-0 baby!
Cue the Briggs Fournier great Kemba not good thread.
Great game. Entertaining. Sure guys made mistakes but I think it's the first game of the year? Fournier seems to be comfortable with the spot light and the guy who will provide 3pt shooting. Think our bench will play better as I believe it is one of our strengths. Just one game with many new faces so hopefully they will only get better. Especially on defense.
Fournier with the most frustrating 32 points. You celebrate his 3s but he had a lot of bone headed plays esp on D. Hoping thibs irons it out.
Shout out to Barrett, he could have become disinterested as he was lost on offense and did not get the ball and forced shots in the first half. He still played good d all game and let the game come to him in the second half
Well I can’t say I never had a doubt. Killer win and way to start the season. The start of the first OT was insane.
Mitch quietly pulled down 17 boards. (The Celtics chose to go small, which almost paid off).
Fournier showed his worth. The French Jordan did his thing. Coming off the Olympics, he has a lot of confidence in himself.
Interesting choice to go with Sims for those 7 mins. He looked okay out there.
Would the outcome have been different had Thibs brought in Obi? Obi was really impactful, good motor, looks like he belongs on the floor, and was playing confidently.
Mitchel Robinson with the haven’t played in a year stepping up game

Are you kidding me?
44 minutes.
32 points.
6 rebounds.
4 steals.
1 block.
(Only 1 turnover).
FG: 13/25.
3PT: 6/13.
And was absolute fire power in two OTs with 4 freaking 3s made!
WHAT AN NY KNICKS DEBUT FOR EVAN FOURNIER
And yessss yessss yessssss not only did RJ drop 20 points (19) but he was A++ on Defense vs. a superstar in Tatum.
RJ also contributed to 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and more importantly; 0 turnovers.
6/11 from the field too (.545%).
This kid quietly put on a clinic tonight!
I already don't like Kemba

Knicks gotta close a lead like that out. No stupid turnovers. I just like Rose on the floor at the end. Good ballhandler, smart and can do something if the offense breaks down.
when RJ and Obi start throwing hammers in transition the Garden is the only place in the world to be. They really got aggressive in the 2nd half

He nearly cost us the game. That game should of been over 40 minutes ago

I'm not on the Kemba train, but still an upgrade over Elf. I expect he'll get better as he gets used to this team and the Thibs defense, but worst case scenario is that he's the gateway to Deuce getting minutes.
Rose definitely our best PG.

Kemba - liability on O and D. Elf was only a liability on O. Rose is our best PG, but plays his best free off the bench.
Did anyone note that Randle brought the ball up most of the game when Kemba was in? It was like 4 on 5.

Facts he locked down Tatum
Can’t believe Knicks pulled this one out. Williams could not miss in the 4th qtr and OT if he tried

Don't think he'll be an issue on offense. Not a great game from him today, but I don't expect teams to slack off of him, daring him to shoot like Elf. He'll still spread the floor, just need to keep expectations in check.
For better or worse, Cardiac Kemba living up to his name. Hopefully next time it's for the better.
Ah so Kemba is on deck as the new whipping boy.
Enjoy the win guys?
