Knicks · The UK speaks: Are you Vaxed or Not? (page 1)

Yup, I work with people with cancer, my priority is to safeguard them from any risk I can- genuinely don’t understand healthcare workers who are happy working with vulnerable people while refusing to be vaccinated- we have a duty of care.

I do as well. My company just laid down the mandate. If not vaxxed by late Nov you go on unpaid 4 wks leave..if not vaxxed by end of Dec you get termed....

No one blames Barack for where we are as a country? The 2008 election was the high point of American democracy since 1928. No other president has come in with such an overwhelming mandate for change while simultaneously having a major crisis to overcome. And he and David Axelrod screwed the pooch. Rather than using the bully pulpit of the presidency for taking senators on both sides of the aisle to task for being puppets of the banks, insurance companies, and pharmaceuticals he decided to play it safe to keep those checks coming in for the DNC. 2010 was when my hope for America died. I don't really blame anyone for distrusting the government. Trump wasn't a cause, he was the result of societal skepticism that refuses to believe that anyone could fight for a public good without having some sort of private benefit. That's the legacy of Obamacare.

wow, what does this have to do with the topic at hand? I take it you are unvaxxed?

BRIGGS @ 10/1/2021 11:06 AM
This is too personal of a question for UK. This is what hurts the main board sometimes. There’s a Covid thread already. This is just a set up thread for people to agree/ disagree etc.. After 20 years I’ve learned keep my opinion whatever they may be private as to not offend one way or another.
jrodmc @ 10/1/2021 11:18 AM
Nalod, livening up the board with a great Off Topic thread that will be sure to get some people banned and have other people leave the board.

Where's the "10 months later, do people who voted for Biden still support this guy?" thread?

MaTT4281 @ 10/1/2021 12:20 PM
It's stupid that science is now a political issue...

You can vote and not disclose your stance or opinon. Yes, we have a covid thread but other than 1248 who stated his job was at risk becuase he was not vax'd I have no idea who is or not.
So its not "too" personal a Question for the UK if you vote and only vote.

Nobody is making anyone discuss or debate a thing.

JesseDark @ 10/1/2021 5:59 PM
Too much acrimony will come from this. (Can I get covid if I share a thread with someone who is unvacinated?)
Seriously, I see this being too similar to Trump/Hiliary election.
BasketballJones @ 10/1/2021 9:56 PM
I am vaccinated against hate.

Of course I'm Vaxxed. You'd have to be an idiot not to and an even bigger one to insist there are two sides to this issue. Sorry, but the amount of conspiracy thinking 'I read an article on the internet' on this issue is ridiculous. My beef with Barry was that I believed him when he said Yes We Can. I like Biden a lot. My issue now is that there's so many wrong thinking people that I don't even see the point of talking with people IRL about politics.

Worst though is the VERY unchristian feeling I feel welling up when I see the numbers of fatalities of the vaxed vs. unvaxed.

Just vote and not debate if thats your preference.

I did that. Don’t want our basketball forum to devolve into what the 2016 election did.

The only reason getting vaccinated against a deadly disease is political is because Trump wanted to avoid the hit to the economy that a lock out would entail. He admitted as much in recorded interviews with Bob Woodward.

The crazy part is he pushed for the vaccines to come out ASAP to gain votes in the last election. Yet a lot of his followers continue to refuse the vaccine. So weird.

nykshaknbake @ 10/3/2021 7:49 PM
I think the problem that most anti vaxxers have with the vaccine is that the liberals embrace it. I'm vaccinated.

The one time Trump urged his followers to get the vaccine at a rally he was booed. He then stopped because hey,you got to keep them checks coming in.

I like those anti Vaxxers in Alaska who are wearing Star of David's. From personal experience, nothing makes white people happier than being 'discriminated' against. There's no downside to it, as whites will then get to happily relive the experience when they retell the story. My suggestion for the unvaxxed? Arrested Development MR F (or M) bracelets.

I wish it was stupid. Its sad and embarrassing. It simply shows people cant think for themselves and have no concept of their own intellectual limitations. Worse they will follow a proven scumbag while lying to themselves along the way

On a side note I needed spellcheck for "intellectual"

Nalod @ 10/4/2021 10:49 AM
For some being an angry MAGA is a lifestyle replacing religion as a guide to daily living. Anger sells. Blame is convenient.
They call it “practicing medicine” because its imperfect. Humans are not all one and the same. When something can[t be explained one tilts to a faith. Faith in friends, faith in science, Faith in Religon. If you can’t, “conspiracy” is an outlet for what cannot be explained. Its a loser mentality drawn into by ignorance and defiance.

Can’t just say “I don’t know” or “I don’t understand”………. Knowing what you don’t know is intelligent.
Sorry if that steps on anyones toes.

This is not to rail against anyone not vaxxed. That depends on ones “reasoning”.
