The big club did take away their best player and destitute Dirk is hurt.

Two things are for sure. He's a big boy and he's got man strength down low (he's a bull).
23 years old though. Pretty old for a Rookie prospect, no?

That's why he dropped. His future development does not have that long of a window. If he was 19 he would have gone way higher in the draft

I honestly knew nothing about him heading into the draft.
If he were 19-20, would he have gone top 10?

Something I always said about Sims. He is not physically strong but he plays huge and has a huge presence on the floor. Every time I see him play I literally say to myself "Damn this guy is big".
Edit: I meant physically big.

He plays bigger than his size. You forget he’s 6’10. But in the video whoever he’s guarding looks smaller than him.

My favorite part of the commentary:
“What a seal by Jericho Sims. He demanded the ball”
I remember him doing that a lot in summer league. What an addition that will bring to our offense.

I think he may be even smaller than 6'10 too which is always amazing or whatever to me. Measured 6'9" without the shoes at combine, small for a C but perfect for a jumpy PF

Not physically strong? Are you serious? What are you basing that on? He looks like a beast to me!

Clean corrected what he meant to say, not to imply that Simms was weak.

I remember I never liked Mozgov as a developing project Center but this Sims kid is a big man prospect who I'm beginning to like more and more.

I would send him to the G league for 2-3 months and then bring him back to the main team around February. Unfortunately, with Mitch still not available, the Knicks may keep Sims on the main team for awhile.
With all the covid and injuries he will get more chances to play in nba games this year

What do you guys think of a Terry Cummings comp? For some reason he springs to mind

Completely different. Terry, as a player, was closer to Julius. Never got to see prime Terry play, but he sounded like a bigger mark Aguirre by all accounts.

he had a small forward’s game and a power forward’s body. very dynamic player

Mozgov had a nice offensive game. Sims has a very ugly shot. Has he scored from longer than 5 feet? Your all a bit enamored with him and his potential. I see the hops and good defense but not great.
