We outdo the division winning year!

58 wins. 3rd seed

The East, I believe, has gotten a lot better. Also like what the Wiz and Bulls did. With that said, think Knicks scrape above .500 with 42 wins. See the following:
Bucks
Nets
Sixers
Heat
Hawks
Boston
with Bulls, Wizards, Raptors and Knicks fighting for last spots. Hornets are also much improved and could be in contention.
Nalod @ 10/19/2021 12:17 AM
Pels play out west. No worries there. We sleeping on the Raptors perhaps?

Fixed. Thanks. Raptors can definitely improve on last year. Although, losing Lowry is tough. If you look at the Bulls they added solid players in DeRozan, Vucevic, Ball and Caruso, who is a glue guy. Wizards are also a threat to Knicks. They were beating us easily until they sat their starters just last week. Grant it pre season but their starters looked strong. They added Dinwiddie, (who I hoped Knicks would get) Harrel and Kuzma to a young developing core and still have Beal. Hornets also gelled towards the end last year and added some solid pieces. Think for us it's a matter of how healthy Walker and Roae stay and how Fournier fits in and plays. Think Randle will still have a good year as will RJ, IQ and Burke. We also have a deep bench if everyone stays healthy. My only concern as mentioned is that last year was a weaker East. Hopefully we show that we are much improved as well. Go Knicks!!

I don't think the east was weaker, the teams that were supposed be there at the top 5(Toronto, Boston, INDI, even the Heat) had either injury or chemistry issues...which happens every yr

There's no dynasty in the NBA, and I still feel like the east is wide open

Berman and the Post predicted 43 wins

Prediction: 43-39
Tom Thibodeau is the NBA’s best regular-season coach by far, so he doesn’t need superstars to win — just a team-first, defensive culture.

So...that means the team might really have a shot at 50 wins

After further consideration, I think I was smoking some serious Kool-aid with that 49 wins number.

anyone predicting less than 49 wins is basing this more on knicks history and firmly believes last yr was a fluke.

I said 38 to 42 wins last season, and im going with 48 to 52..high end a healthy 60

So you are saying the injury and chemistry issues made those teams weaker right? How does that not translate to you that the East was weaker?

Anyway, the East is stronger this year.

I'm surprised you didn't end up in an emergency room if the stuff you smoked is that strong 🤣
franco12 @ 10/20/2021 7:20 AM
I went with 44 wins. That is above 500, but not so much so. I think guys like Kemba and Rose are going to get hurt. I am very afraid that Randle could end up going down for a period- hope not, but worried about the impact of his minutes and going all out all the time.

If we had younger versions of Kemba and Rose, then yea, 60 or 55 or 50 would be something we could attain- I just think last year was a lot of lightening caught in a bottle and you can’t depend on/build on some of the performance we got.

YOu picked a range with a 10% variance last year. Your going 48 to 60 to cover it? This is not a indictment on last season. You picked 48 with is one game above last season winning %.
Last year is history.

The knicks are improved. So are other teams. No fluke.

SergioNYK @ 10/20/2021 11:07 AM
Can I change my prediction? I think it's going to be difficult to win in the high 40s and get homecourt. The East is just much better. I think 45 wins, 6th seed is more realistic.
Caseloads @ 10/20/2021 11:26 AM
44, 7th seed updated

Go to record predictor and put in your number. Perhaps Martin locks it and we can have fun with it.
Of course injury and other things matter, and other then 1248 who cares about being right or wrong. Its a long season and many things can happen. No games played yet. Put in your win, not range. Of course Ranges is easier and conversationally more accurate. We just having fun.

This is about what you think before the season starts. It rarely goes the way anyone thinks. Even Kyrie and Simmons, two allstars in our division. WE dont know how either turns out do we? Vax Mandate gets lifted after mayoral elections and Kyrie comes back, Simmons trade?

Last year was a fluke or an unpredictable surge of a team due to all we know in face of teams not prepared as were were. THis is a new season.

my take is we are just not better than Miami or ATL this year. That puts us 6th. We might be better than Philly if Simmons things gets unfavorable to them resolution. But all things we know Toronto, Pacers, Charlotte and Chicago right there with us for the 7th and 8th spots.

Being a fan does not make me blind. What I think and what I hope are not one the the same. Last season matters little now. That is in the books.
