After the bulls game I thought at least espn or sportscenter would show some love for our Knicks but none there. Maybe I missed it anyone see some love for our team??
Nalod@ 10/30/2021 1:49 PM
Most national sources are complimentary on the knicks. Thibs came with cred and delivered. I do listen to Windhorst, Daily Ding,, Athletic, and Bill Simmons and they are mostly rightfully complimentary. Much to do because the job he did last year. Knicks have a base of Cred now. Last year it was in progress and the get benefit of doubts. Does not mean homer love but I find it fair for the most part. Thibs was on Boston with Doc so the Boston crowd of Bob Ryan and Jackie McMullun (Newly retired) have come on and they are fair. thats all you can ask really. The things the question are fair. The biggest star in the ESPN universe is Steven A. And he is a knick fan. Unapologetic one at that. It can be funny.

Flipping around after the TNF game. They reset Sportscenter to show highlights of just=completed Packers-Cards, then the very next segment was Knicks-Bulls.
So (and as always)... yeah.

ESPN is a Boston homer network full of lazy Knick haters like Max Kellerman
Literally the only Knicks fan on the channel is Stephen A Smith

It won’t happen overnight… national attention doesn’t really get started until around Christmas day… World Series and football have the stage now

My feeling is we're in a bit of a twilight zone between the hate and clowning of the past several years and, if we continue to improve, a mad rush to the bandwagon. Mainstream coverage is as deep as a film of Saran Wrap. They feel a Breeze and there they go.
TheGame@ 11/1/2021 3:42 AM
Stephen A after years of blasting the Knicks, has jumped on the bandwagon. Even Charles Barkley predicted that the Knicks would beat the Bulls, and he usually heavily criticizes the team. We are only six games in, but it is looking like the Knicks are not only a top-6 team in our conference but also may be a top-6 team in the entire league. This team is built to succeed in the regular season due to our depth.
Nalod@ 11/1/2021 4:02 AM
The wiz are 5-1.Media give them love? I don’t follow them so I don’t know.

Knicks haven't played games against the top tier of Milwaukee,Brooklyn, or Miami or the top teams out West. The Knicks had higher expectations than Chicago,Hornets, and DC so the jury is still out. For now they need to maintain the next game up mentality.
Nalod@ 11/1/2021 9:13 AM
No doubt we are not on the bottom tier. We are not top tier tested yet. So no reason to argue about a thing. As for Nets, why we even care? They are not the benchmark. If they suck and we suck, thats sucks. We take care of our business and it don’t matter. I expect Kyrie is back at some point if restrictions get lifted. I expect Harden to play into shape. Nalod got knicks pegged at 47 wins. I won’t debate this, if we better, Im dancing happily! If we start beating the top tier clubs and trend 50+, Of course I’ll rub my chin and say “Hmmmmm, I need to readjust my thinking”. No shit, thats. All this was preseason. Wiz are 5-1. Anyone think thats sustainable? Im happy for them. My season is not dependent solely on being better then Nets. Harden is former MVP HOF bound. My focus is on gettng RJ there. Now that is the fun part!!!!

If ESPN is smart they will continue to push the Knicks. NY is the biggest North American tv market by far and no one cares about the unlikable Nets. ESPN’s NBA coverage has been way too West Coast centric the past 10 years and ratings have become dog crap as a result

There was more stars, more winning teams and more entertaining teams in the west for the last 15 yrs.
Knicks have been a joke 11 out of the last 15 yrs..
We will be a primetime favorite once we have become a top 3 team in the east consistently
sidsanders@ 11/1/2021 11:14 AM
there are others outside of the tri-state area on this board who can chime in -- most folks do not care about the knicks cuz they havent been any good/a threat to be any good. knicks are not the yankees. thats the only team i have come across folks hate from ny at high amounts. the rest they dont care cuz they, mostly, are not historically great and not much recently as well. tv ratings, they have some spikes, however once jordan left in 99 appear to have dropped. at least it looks like that based on the finals ratings.

What did Perk say? I can never hear his points because I get distracted by Malik Andrews 😍 I'm not saying Rachel Nichols didn't get a raw deal, but I can't say they didn't make a major upgrade at the position.
Rookie@ 11/1/2021 11:26 AM
The networks don’t have any love for teams, they love the super star players. They will hype the crap out of James, Curry, Embid/simmons, Lillard, Beal, Tatum etc even when their teams aren’t winning.
The two national games they had to promote the Walker and Fournier vs their old team angle and then Thibs, Rose and Taj return vs their old team and an even older rivalry because Randle vs LaVine isn’t going to make anyone tune in who isn’t a Bulls or Knicks fan.
We are respectable now, but a superstar away from media love. I wouldn’t be surprised if we add an aging superstar in the future. The days of the media waiting for the December West coast dysfunctional clown show to mock us are behind us
VDesai@ 11/1/2021 11:30 AM
ITs early, but I think we're around 7 in ESPN power ranks. 4 winnable games this week- TOR/IND/MIL/CLE...Milwaukee down Holiday, Lopez and maybe Middleton.
Nalod@ 11/1/2021 1:02 PM
Ratings are driven by stars. NBA seems to hold randle in this regard on promo’s. Durant was a star in OKC and had big endorsement deals. More so with warriors and while no one cares for nets they care about the stars on the team and they draw. Nets are Generic team in NY, but knicks are still the shyt.
Nobody cares about milwaukee but they tuned in to watch “The Greek Freak” and he delivered. As a fan I thought Durants performance was awesome. Game 7 vs Bucks was a classic. IF you hate them, or don’t care, I get it. But what a game!!!!
There are other stories besides the 5-1 knicks outside our orbit. Wiz, heat, cavs, GS, Not clippers, etc are in the spotlight. Two weeks in. A bit early for proclamations. Knicks have still to play a string of tough game.
Bottom line as a fan: Are you having fun?

Spiro dedes and other on NBA tv tonite calling the game are gushing with neutral love for Knicks1. Watched the chicago feed when they played bulls and they were very complimentry on Knicks.
