yeah the Warriors teams that won 60-70 games and titles may beg to differ

Im not loving our pure 5's this year. I dont mind 20 min but the floor is to spread to make a difference. Id love to play smaller faster. Robinson was abused tongiht
this might work but we have done a poor job punishing teams for playing a small on Julius. Bulls stuck Lonzo on JR and he continued to play like a wing where he was defended by a quicker player. When that is happening we need to find way to get JR basic post ups where he doesnt need to put the ball on the floor and cover 10 feet to get into the paint. Get in the ball and lets see Lonzo defend Randle in the paint. That just didnt happen enough. When it does and JR gets 3 easy buckets 3 trips down the floor in a row they will adjust again.

I'm not sure how much it would work. Randle is still seeing the opposing team's best defender no matter if you put him at 3,4, or 5. They're still going to double him and make him commit turnovers. And he's going to have more responsibilities on defense, which would be frightening. That's a lot to deal with just to get Obi 10 extra minutes a game. And Obi isn't really a floor spacer, so that doesn't really help Randle in the post.

I wouldn’t call it “piling on.” More people should have seen this coming. Randle has by far the best season of his career, we give him a big extension - not the max but close. Randle’s performance comes back down to earth following season and now he looks like a poor man’s Carmelo Anthony constantly running the ISO taking fade away jumpers
We really need to look at shopping Randle and seeing what we can get. Maybe Portland changes it’s mind and suddenly wants to do Lillard for Randle straight up

7 games into to season and you are ready to jump ship.

Knicks ain’t warriors bro. Warriors take a lot of threes but they are a pass first team. Built around Curry and a system. One of the transcendental talents that NBA has ever seen. The Knicks have to increase their pass first mentality which is actually a strong point of Randle and Barrett. Taking easy opportunities is the key. The team can’t just keep firing threes.

Exactly.
Julius Randle @ Milwaukee not only dropped 32 Points off of 11/22 from the field, 12 Rebounds, 4 Assists and 2 blocks but also OUT PLAYED THE GREEK FREAK!
He's an All-Star leader but yet Knicks fans chomp @ the bit to criticize his every mistake; and it's HORSE CRAP.
Trading Julius Randle for Damian Lillard? That's a JOKE hot take.
Seems he is taking more fade-a-ways when forcing it.
Seems like after last season and the highlights only memory we have benchmarked his play as an icon and any lessor is seen as “Lets point out what he is doing wrong. Myself included
The extension he signed is below all NBA and top 5 MVP levels by quite a bit, so its not like is over paid.
He gets the ball alot and seems to have an aloofness and then the turnovers happen. Is it fatigue? If so, does he hae some Covid hangover we are not aware of? The baby ok at home? Knicks and Randle playing thru a new schematic.
I suppose we HAVE to keep guessing then again try to fix it ourselves. “Less minutes, more OBI”……..
“Grimes and Misdemeanors””, “Duece time!”. Assumption is this is the ceiling and what do we have to lose?

This is a perfect description. And maybe it's similar to last year but he was making bucket after bucket so we didn't notice cause the wins and energy from made baskets carried him thru

We lost 31 games of 72 last season. We seem to forget that it was not all magical. If Randle was our main man, not all was rainbow skittles……
