Interesting comparison.

Here are 1st year stats:

The Burks and IQ 4th quarter impact has carried over from last year. It was something I was concerned wasn’t going to happen.

I dunno about IQ becoming Curry but he could be a better Jason Terry

Yea, Curry is unobtainable. Best shooter the league has seen by a wide margin. Crazy how good he is at shooting every conceivable 3pt shot. Most shooters specialize in certain types of 3pters. Curry specializes in them all.

If Quickley learns to shoot better he could shoot as well as Curry?

The similarity I see is his willingness to shoot from range. I don’t see him anywhere near Curry right now - even on projections. But it’s a nice daydream. Curry just has the best shooting touch I’ve ever seen. Wouldn’t mind putting him next to Barrett to see if Barret can be his Klay Thompson. If RJ shots better he could shoot as well as Klay Thompson.

LOL, Ok guys, I get we fans but Steph Curry’s are born not created. I’ll never say never but one has to laugh just a bit.
Steph? I’ll be happy with SETH!
Be great if this kidd can get it done and earn extension!!!

and maybe I am not trying to put IQ at his level- but that IQ can be that kind of player that is very hard to defend, that can get you 20-30 points on any given night.

Curry is unconscious- and what I see when I watch him is a player that can get anywhere he wants on the court, and can pretty much get his shot off whenever.

IQ is proving to be cold blooded- calm, cool- energizing his team with big plays.

Clearly, he has a long way to go in terms of shooting percentage, and I don't see him ever being at Curry's level - but if he can just be good and dangerous and able to hit the open 3 reliably, then I think IQ can be a star in this league- and who knows, maybe one of the better players out of that draft, much like Donovan Mitchell being the best player taken in his draft class. IQ ranked on points is 6th in his draft class.

I tend to have the opposite opinion. Steph Currys are created through hard work. Quickly is described as firsts in the gym and the last one out. So I would not put it past him to get there

I heard a great quote on a soccer show:

‘HARD WORK BEATS TALENT WHEN TALENT DOESN’T WORK HARD’

I think it explains why we won last year and maybe why we’re struggling this year.

I hope IQ continues to develop as he could be an internal development angle for the franchise. And he is the kind of player that a San Antonio or Miami would nab at the back of the draft, where we’re wondering how the heck they build and maintain championship level player, year after year, while we would struggle to find keepers in the top 10.

Curry is arguably the best shooter in the history of shooting. He has had 4 games where he made 9 3's in a game this season, no other player has even 1 game with 9 treys.

These individual stats that the NBA has become reliant on just don't tell the whole story.

It doesn't take into account who's the other 4 guys on the floor at the time

Yep, but I'm sure the analytical group would disagree. They have numbers on everything and any combination of players on the floor. But what we see or hear will only be a subset of data, that they feel is worth reporting. I'm one of those engineers that understands how analytics is just another tool of many. And everybody doesn't always see all the data. Just the data that supports the agenda of the day.

Individual stats don't show us or inform us about team stats?

THIS IS GENIUS

This dude Burks your raving about is shooting 32% fg, 30% from 3 since he got the nod to start.

The team is 2-7

The only stat I really care about is in the Win/Loss record

A dude can shoot 12 for 12 from the field in a 12 point loss and no one gives a sht

A dude can shoot 1-9 in a 12 point win, and no one gives a sht

Philc1 @ 12/21/2021 2:50 PM
I don’t think anyone dislikes Burks he’s just better as a wing not full time pg and literally every metric reflects that
