I watched each of those games like 10 times. I was too young during the 1999 finals run so I was extremely casual. I mostly was a H20 fan. I sadly became a hardcore fan at the start of the Starbury era, so all I know is misery.

Linsanity was a really unique experience. Literally the entire world for 3 weeks rooted for the Knicks. I remember on WFAN Evan Roberts talking about how an Australian newspaper was about to interview him. The View - the freaking View was talking about the Knicks

I’ve been around for all the 90’s playoff runs and that was great but that month in 2012 was the most surreal experience I’ve ever had as a fan of a team

I am glad I am not the only 1 who felt this way. The Knicks was the easiest conversation starter ever. Just walking the streets people outside everywhere were all talking about the game. You also have to remember how at the time everyone hated ISO Melo and everyone knows how much I hate ISO. The team for those 3 weeks had no talent at all but they played selflessly and for each other. They used player movement, ball movement and PNRs to disrupt the defense. Win or lose all I ever wanted was for the Knicks to "play the right way" and for 3 weeks I got it and a whole lot more. I can only imagine how amazing it must feel to be a Warriors fan. The Warriors play the right way all day everyday and they have had some of the best players in NBA History.

If only Melo could have figured out a way to contain his massive ego and narcissism and allow Lin to share the spotlight. It would have been fun to watch a couple more years of Linsanity

I miss Mike Newlin and the kind of game that generated players with unique abilities to put the ball in the hole.
Patrick Ewing's heart. I don't ever remember him not playing hard.
Splint Musberger and having to stay up till 11:30 to start watching Finals games on tape delay because it wasn't considered worthy of prime time.
The whopper - Billy Paultz.
I too liked Henry Bibby and I miss his brother Jim.

If Lin could have just turned down that insanely overpriced contract!! We could have had a few more 15 minutes of Linsanity!

I miss Maze, Ewing, Starks, Oak, LJ, Trent, Melo, Houston, Bernard, Jackson, Spree, 90's teams, 2000-2001 and 2012-13!

I miss the UK Mafia vs the Isiah apologists. What great battles we had. Way better than what the Knicks show this year.

If only we gave Elf the max for his incredible defense and 28% from 3-point range

+1
Of course we would have to wait for the regular season for those next 15 minutes, because you can't get playoff Linsanity when you're only 99.75%!
And damn Melo for getting Lin that ridiculous contract!

I swear to God, LinFanBoys are just like listening to people pine for Vanilla Ice.

You miss what the nba used to be before Stern pussified the game with defensive 3 second rules in the 2000’s. Now every game is a glorified 3 point shooting contest with score 120-110

If anything drives that point better is when the ref said that Randle was TOO STRONG and therefore had to make calls against him to protect weaker players.

I miss the this squad...The 88-89 season led by Pitino was probably my favorite Knicks team. The 3-ball and the full court press was innovative for its time. Johnny Newman and his rainbow 3's, Rod Strickland knifing into the lane for his reverse layups, Mark leading the break throwing alley-oops and behind the back passes....Loved that team.

IronwillGiroud. His off topic posts were gold. Especially the combination of deep squats and heavy cream. He could slap backboards!

IM thinking the combo of Growth Hormones with massive heavy cream consumption has relegated our Blobman into obscurity from the human population. ITs not a good mix.
He did make mention of some form of incarceration. It was a bit cryptic but he did disappear for a while and came back a year or so later under new name. Was it penal or mental health issue? English was not his first language which made some posts even better!
