Depends on the deal but any of those three plus Brogdan would help and fill a need.
I have long believed Obi was drafted to be groomed and traded. Indy has to value him as still a prospect for him to have value.
Missing in this is MONEY. Talent as Lavert is, he is not much more than EF if at all. He is a high volume chucker who will drive us crazy.
Brogden is solid and a starter. Prone to miss games and is now 29 years old. Free agent after next year. Makes 21 this year, 23mm Next. So we a win now team and give up assets for him? I doubt that. HE put us over the top? If so, I’d pay big for him.
But he was not mentioned. It was Tuner or Sabonis.
Turner? I give them mitch, Knox, 2 1st round picks protected up to 14th. One being Dallas. He is no magic man. Indy is not a terrible team and he is not getting them further along.
They paid a big price for Carlisle and doubt they are blowing it up after 20 games. My guess they looking for a tweek. Do they view Sabonis and Turner a bad fit? Is Turner a bad fit with Randle?
Sabonis? Straight up for Randle? Seems like a dick move to resign Randle then panic 20 games in? We still trying to create an attractive environment of culture and stability? Not like that. Sabonis is everything frank kaminsky was suppose to be.
They have TJ warren on the shelf coming off injury and a pending FA.
This is weird. I just realized that I don't want our rookies traded. Like I think Grimes and McBride are better than Brogdon and Lavert.
Turner wins DPOY under Thibs if he can stay healthy. Sabonis and Randle are basically the same player. Sabonis is a better rebounder. Sabonis is more of a finesse player, I honestly like his game just a little better.
Miles Turner is the one if I’m rose would go after. He opens the floor for Randle to operate. How many times is Randle working down low and Mitch walks right into his lane disrupting the flow . Adding turner gives Randle another shooter to pass out to .

They can have either Noel or Mitch( I'd rather trade Mitch myself) to start at C. We have a lot of high quality youths already, I'd rather stick with Obi, Grimes and McBride so picks can be traded. Too bad it's not a PG, again

Brogdan isn't eligible for a trade as he just signed a 2 year extension (or something)
those talks are reportedly centered on veteran guard Caris LeVert and either one of their two star centers, Domantas Sabonis or Myles Turner. Malcolm Brogdon, already signed to a two-year extension, isn't eligible to be dealt this season.

Randle and Sabonis are so close (even though Sabonis is playing better so far this year) that I wouldn't even bother getting into a bar argument over it. Pacers probably wouldn't bite due to Randle's future cap hold, but it's something I wonder about. I think I'm done with the point Randle experiment. The option is to form a team that's not as reliant in Randle's playmaking or remove him altogether.
Isn't it Randle and Turner who are close? They worked out together over summer, there was video of it- I remember as people thought that meant we'd worked out a trade for him, but it turned out they usually work out together
Only trade that would make sense IMO would be M.Turner and McConnell for Randle and Mitch. Doubt Indy would want Randle (have Sabonis) but that would open a lot of options for us. McConnell is a stop gap but he plays good defense and could start for us. I know some envision playing Turner around Randle (upgrade from Mitch) - but think he would be somewhat wasted as a stretch 5 around Randle. Turner wouldn't be happy sitting at the 3pt line waiting for a Randle kickout. If we stay with the Randle focus - we probably need a shot blocking Luke Kornet on a cheap contract. Where's Raef Lafrenz when you need him?
We're not trading Randle, and Indy isn't trading for him.

I meant close in terms of talent level. But Turner is shooting 40% from three this year. Maybe he and Randle need to schedule another impromptu workout this weekend

Turner with Thibs is a match made in heaven. Great player to put next to Randle and will be the defensive anchor Thibs badly wants without sacrificing on the offensive end. He’s a good corner 3pt shooter too. Knicks can get him without dealing Toppin or IQ. It’s just a matter of how many draft picks they’re willing to give up. He’s not the final piece by any means so it can’t be too many. Is he a big enough splash for the Knicks brass or will they hold all the chips until Lillard or Fox become available ? Turner can easily be had but the other stuff is what it comes down to.

I think Sabonis would be a good fit, because he doesn't demand the ball or need to pound the ball a hundred times, to impact the game. I believe he's a better passer as well. Randle is a bully in the post. Can't be stopped 1 on 1. But he needs the right team and coach to be successful. Sabonis is not as talented at scoring like Randle. Neither is Turner. But they both play their roles and don't rely on ISO plays to impact the game. I haven't watched the pacers as much as the knicks, so I could be wrong. But that's my assessment based on the pacers game I did watch.
