told you mitch is better off the bench for 20 min
they made shots, but the energy and vibe was great throughout.
God, I feel for Pop- but for all the winning he has done, he can lose a few more games!

Beating the Spurs feels nice. Like a nice comfy blanket. Could not get it when it counts, now I'll take any win against them

Love seeing Rowan Alexander Barrett go off
So where are all the chicken littles tonight?

Here. We beat a team we should beat. the energy was great- I definitely liked the line ups Thibs played. He tweaked some things and they worked out. All we have been asking for.
And RJ made up for his season long slump in one game. Does he disappear tomorrow?
RJ put in the work to get back on track, kid is a workhorse and only 21 he heard the thibs call him out and came to play. He was one of the main reasons we started the season so hot, we gotta keep giving him the rock early and get him involved.
Like Mitch off the bench, he gets more involved in that second unit vs other second unit 5’s.
I wanna see more obi he deserves more burn .
Overall great win. Let’s see if we can keep it rollin in Indy!!
Side note: I like Mitch but to pay him opposed to getting turner Knicks gotta kick the tires to see what what the pacers want.

The bold is literally all we been asking for. Don't keep pushing out the same lineup that is the worst in NBA history and expect things to magically change. Give people who fit with each other game time together. I been calling for Noel/Mitch swap. Noel showed he can play with Randle last year and Mitch would benefit from the less ISO centric game the bench plays. One thing I did not account for with Mitch on the 2nd unit was he would get more offensive rebounds and put backs because of them breaking down the D and him cleaning up.

Here is the thing with Mitch- he has really fantastic hands- so if he can get the ball near the basket, it’s 2pts & nearly automatic.
Also, Randle played within himself, didn’t force too much, and then got some shots to drop late which was just gravy.

He played like he heard the rumors that Myles Turner is on the trading block

yeah and he also heard the FO is keeping a close eye on luka tearing up the G league..
I missed the firs quarter but the 3rd seemed to have good energy from the starters and Noel was a good part of that. I like him with that unit.
And Mitch fits with the run guys coming off bench

we did? Do you follow the league? Spurs just beat the Celtics/Wiz/Blazers and yes the Warriors to win 4 straight and lost a close one to the Suns before last night. They were playing very well. They are a pop-coached team.
What is funny if after decades plus you saw what a year of good NBA coaching looks like under Thibs and you think guys like Mike Miller are plug and play and can do the same.
There are no gimme games in this league. Every roster has a guy or two who can catch fire any night. The best coached teams are the most consistent.
Funny how much better the Knicks looks when RJ hits some shots and Randle plays a little better. Guess since it was Thibs fault for being .500 we can give him credit for coaching RJ out of his slump for a night. Good job Thibs! Maybe another dramatic run will end in another COY of the year award. That would make you so happy!

Luka is a center now? He playing that in the Gleague? Is that his path now? To come back as an NBA center?
In 7 games he now plays defense, boxes out, and his motor is fixed AND can do all this, in a new position in the NBA?
Great win to stop the bleeding and end this losing streak! Spurs just beat the Warriors and took the Suns to the last minute and lost by 4. We also haven't won in San Antonio since 2014 so I honestly wasn't feeling great entering last night but we came out laser focused, especially RJ. He should have had 40 last night! Looks like Thibs comments got to him! Another reason why I love Thibs! Great motivator! And another reason why I really like RJ. Not every player would have responded like that. It says a lot about his character and work ethic. Hopefully this is the start of consistent 40% three point shooting from RJ. But he's gotta finish those bunnies at the hoop!
Great response from Rob too. I do not agree with Thibs benching him but kudos to Rob for how he handled it and played last night. He was the catalyst for the tempo and rebounding. I still have high hopes for him but he's gotta lose a little more weight and stay healthy and get back to being that athletic big.
Nice game from Randle. I thought he was a little too passive in the first half but he was nearly perfect in the second half with his timely shooting and passes. Good to see that three fall down too!
Good games from everyone else. My only complaint was Fournier. He's gotta try harder defensively.

Same, Fournier has been under performing

I would indeed be happy.
But yea, given our record, where the team aspires to be, we beat a team we should beat. I don't think this should be up for debate. No, nothing is a given- Orlando has beaten us 2x on our home court.
Spurs are 8 & 15- that is a 348%. We're now 12 & 12. I think we should be better than that. I think our team expects to be better than a 500 team, especially after last year and the off season moves.
They play the games and anything can happen.

But we're 2-0 in games where Fournier shoots 1-6 from three! It's all part of the Thibs plan!!
Such a quick pull for a play that has gotten so many easy points for Obi. Easy points for a team that never gets easy points. These plays are part of the reason why the team does so well when Obi is in the game. It's not going to work 100% of the time. I could understand if Thibs was quick with other people like Randle but we know Thibs will never do that.
