Simmons could come cheaper but there is the contract. IF there is any thinking thru due diligence that Simmons cannot be rehab'd then I would imagine we don't go that direction under any circumstances.
What we read is not always what it is. In simple terms, if he a headcase, why bother?
If he a headcase, nobody will take him.
If he is potentially not a head case, he has some value.
How big of a headcase could he be? He choked once in the playoffs, but it is not like he choked his coach or anything.
We took a chance on the dude that choked his coach and that worked out for us. Got to the finals and he is an all time fan fav...

not for 4 years and $146M we didn't
and not for a guy who quit on his team during the playoffs
and the following year

I would
Same....Wonder if Morey believes Randle, Embiid and Harris can work together? Doc's oldschool, he may be on board with it.
A 3 way trade with Sacramento could get really interesting.
But would you as a Knick fan rather have Fox or Simmons? and would the Kings rather have Randle over Simmons?
Fox and it’s not really even close

Im saying it again, what do the coaches think of him? Not publicly, but in private? Do they want him here and get in his head, or stay clear? Wednesday an beyond a whole slew of players can get traded.
Naturally all our troubles fans think can be solved by trades.
76ers aren’t giving us Simmons without a crazy overpay. Not only would they be trading him to a team in the same conference it’s the neighboring market
Knixkik wrote:You don’t trade Randle because he’s miscast as a #1 option. You find a way to build a team where he doesn’t have to be that. Clearly last year he was good in the role in the right circumstances, but he isn’t that player on a full time basis when expectations rise. He doesn’t need to be traded, his role needs to be adjusted.
The problem with guys like Randle is they need the ball in their hands. Obi can fill a statbox without always having the ball. Randle can’t that’s why he sulks when Thibs runs a play that isn’t an ISO call for him
Guys like that kill their team. We sorta got away with that with Carmelo thanks to Linsanity one year saving our season and then Jason Kidd was essentially a floor general for us the following year. Also, Carmelo in his prime was better than Randle

Mentally, Spree is the exact opposite of a spoiled brat like Simmons
Keep Randle
Restructure his play
He’s ok. He can improve. Many things he can fo

The biggest question i have is why Both Fizdale and Thibs feel the need to have him as our primary ball handler when the 3 coaches he played for prior to the knicks saw no such need at all.
Fizdale didn't have much of an option, but Thibs does, and even though Rose started the last game, Randle still was the guy bringing the ball up court..
I saw Rose grab a rebound looked to push the rock, and all 4 of his teammates are trailing him...
OUR defensive philosophy to pack the paint and allow no layups (which still happens anyway) what happens on a miss 3, a long rebound

What is there to restructure? This is what he is. You guys suddenly loved him last year because in the regular season he was shooting at higher percentages. Now that his fg percentages are down suddenly it must be a game plan issue
Randle got hot during the previous regular season and is now back down to earth. If we don’t trade him now we are stuck with this whale of a contract another 3 years and can’t sign anyone
