The Philadelphia 76ers have ramped up their efforts to trade Ben Simmons.
The New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers are among the teams interested in Simmons.
It is unclear, however, how much traction the 76ers have on a potential trade. The 76ers are currently asking teams for an All-Star-caliber player and/or multiple first-round draft picks for Simmons.
Simmons has yet to play for the 76ers this season as he's expressed the sentiment that he's not mentally ready to rejoin the team.

I would offer Randle for Simmons. May need to include a couple of draft picks as well. No way in hell would I package our youth for him with the intention of paring Randle with Simmons. Randle's presence kind of nullifies some of Simmons best attributes.

I actually used to enjoy watching Simmons play- he was a fun player to watch, but there's no way we trade for him and there's no way the Sixers trade him here- the article is BS, probably from Morey, getting Shams to write the piece to try and hype interest by mentioning LA and NY (it's pretty much impossible for the lakers to trade for him)
sidsanders@ 12/13/2021 1:05 PM
in ny, this guy wont melt after a few bad games and fans calling for his head on a plate? as an outside observer, his seeming lack of growth as a player, response to criticism do not inspire confidence.

Yeah...as much as I would like to move Randle for Simmons, I don't see it happening. Philly could probably get a better deal from other teams...Not sure how enthusiastic Morey would be to team Randle with Embiid and Harris in the front court.

Haven't read too deep into what's going on in Philly, but my best guess is that Simmons frustrations lie more with Embiid and the organization than with the fans. There's been reports that he and Emiid haven't gotten along for sometime and recently, Doc made some comments that he wasn't very fond of. The mental health issues seem to be a ploy to get out of Philly. Simmons has the same agent as Anthony Davis, and we saw what Davis did to get out of New Orleans. Harden became a malcontent to get out of Houston as well. Players under contract are reading from the same playbook to get out of town....

unsure how much i would chance a guy who is putting out there how he handles pressure and it translates poorly to me. his apparent lack of ability to shoot and limited growth there is a larger concern.

We might be losing, but at least we're not a circus. If we trade for Simmons - we deserve the karma that comes our way.
martin@ 12/13/2021 1:26 PM
What would Philly want from NY?
Let's say a trade is just between the 2 teams.
Playoff team wanting solid experience, not wanting just salary cap filler and young guys/picks.
Starts with Randle. They need PG off bench play? Add in Rose.
What else would you ask for from NY?
Nalod@ 12/13/2021 1:26 PM
Put yourself in Philly’s place and think how can they improve their team. our yoot really does not move the dial to their being a contender.
From Lakers would Westbrook take them over the top? Fram Minny, D’angelo is better than anything we can offer them for now. From SAC, Fox straight up? Sac not going anywhere and Fox with EMbiid and Harris is an upgrade. Portland? McCollum and other pieces better than EF and pieces.
I’d like a real adult opinon if Simmons can unlock more from Randle? I know we all salty on him these days but thats just fan emotions. Your likley looking at a 3 way in some fashion if knicks are a part of anything big. What does Sac need/want that rounds them out? Can Hield and Fox to Philly work, we take simmons and Bagley, We move to Philly Drose, EF and Obi to Sac, and I guess two first round picks becuase that makes it easy. I guess Mitch goes too? NO, don’t see it but we are not natural partners for Philly. This does not complete us by any stretch but it is interesting and changes things. I want to build WITH Randle and thinking is this roster is not balanced. Not even close.
Just playing here. I don’t expect anything major.

I’m asking for Randle, Rose and 3 first rd picks
Charlottes pick which should convey 2022 Mac’s pick 2023 Knicks pick 2024 1-10 protected

And if there is an assumption that Randle should/has to be included - talent and salary - what would the Knicks look like after the trade?
C, Obi, Simmons, RJ, Fournier?
ToddTT@ 12/13/2021 1:43 PM
I would be okay with a trade for Simmons.
I would offer Joakim Noah and the ghost of Frank Ntilikina.
NY would chew up Simmons and spit him out.

Only shooter is EF/RJ. Reality would bite. Simmons got a big ass contract and I don’t see Randle moved in a deal. RJ is 21. I see a player. I don’t see consisntancy yet but lets give him a pass the last few weeks. I want Simmons to look Thibs in the eye and tell him when they land in LA he going to the gym with Jules THEN go bang a Kardashian. No yessing them to hear what they want. A two year rehabilitation of sorts with Johnny Bryant and a shrink to rebuild him to his potential. We never gonna hear this shyt. But this is what is needed. Now, he wants to buy cars, houses and live large, thats fine, but we have to weed it out. IS that even possible? Thibs is not a warm and fuzzy kind of guy.
SergioNYK@ 12/13/2021 1:55 PM
Zero chance this happens and I'm glad. Simmons sucks and would make us even worse and add more drama and bs.
xblvdels3@ 12/13/2021 2:06 PM
I think we need keep teams under 100 points and Randle needs to play better.
But there is something going on internally in this group that we don’t know.
We also seem to struggle to get to 100 points every game. The idea was by picking up Fournier and Kemba we were taking a step back defensively but we should be closer to averaging 110ppg. Instead we have taken a step back defensively and we struggle getting to 90 points. Everyone in inconsistent and we never all score well as a team toghethor.
blkexec@ 12/13/2021 2:09 PM
Simmons is not vaccinated. Kyrie is making headlines for not being vaxed. Simons will have the same issues as kyrie, unless this trade includes a Vax shot or a trade to remove a dead contract. Otherwise I don’t see why the Knicks would do this trades. Especially if he can’t play home games due to ny covid protocol.

I always assumed the Ben's vac status was just another layer in the game he's playing with the organization. Again, it's assumption. But I'm sure I s something Rose would clear up before making a trade.

can you imagine what Thibs can do with Ben on D? His passing would be amazing for getting everyone involved. If we can get Turner last years defense will make a comeback. One huge problem is Ben is not vaxxed. So unless he changes that this will be Kyrie 2.0.
