McBride, IQ, you are UP

Miles McBride… come on down! Well, you know… in like 5 days.

I hope Duece gets a shot but Thibs would have to open it back up to a 10 man rotation

NYKMentality @ 12/22/2021 8:17 PM
This could actually become a blessing in disguise.

A.) Deuce McBride and Immanuel Quickley and also Kemba Walker can step up at PG.

B.) Let Derrick Rose rest up and get fresh for our playoff push.

MaTT4281 @ 12/22/2021 8:48 PM
This is a big blow. Rose is our most important player IMO. As much as I'm trying to hold out hope on righting the ship, feeling more and more like a development year.

Fortunately we do have guys waiting for their opportunity - opens up minutes for Deuce or Grimes.

...or it just keeps Kemba in the SL for a longer stretch. (Still not a bad thing if he keeps playing well and can boost his value. We can wait a little longer on our future backcourt taking the reigns).

Get well soon D🌹!

franco12 @ 12/22/2021 9:50 PM
we can't mess around and blow our opportunity here to end up high in the draft. I get overcoming adversity, but this should be our Tim Duncan year.

Add one more really good piece and we have a solid foundation to build a core group.

I thought tank talk was banned.

JrZyHuStLa @ 12/22/2021 10:17 PM
When your best player is out for two months, you're under 500 and the rest of the roster is scrub central, you tank.

You tank nicely.

I love McBride.

He should unquestionably start.

What are you talking about?

We've yet to peak at max strength and max potential but yet we're only 1.0 games out of the 8th seed and only 2.0 games out of the 6th seed.

(and only a whopping 4.5 games back of the 3 seed).

we're 14-17 this year after 31 games

We were 15-16 last year after 31 games .

So what are you talking about?

If the Knicks are considered currently as a "PLAY IN TEAM"?

Well then so are the likes of...

Philadelphia.
Washington.
Charlotte.
Boston.
Toronto.
Atlanta.
Indiana.

And both of Cleveland and Miami are far from playoff locks (moving forward).

The Knicks are literally one hot streak away from the 3rd-6th seeds ( but I wouldn't expect you to comprehend the standings right now)

KnickDanger @ 12/22/2021 10:30 PM
Even if you believe tanking is a solid philosophy (horses#!t), does anyone think a Thibs coached team is going to try to lose games?

Hey maybe we can end up with the eighth pick!

We're currently 12th in the East, out of PLAY IN position.

But yet you want to talk playoffs lol.

Get real.

I didn't even need to read your whole post when all I need to do is check the standings.

Ooooohhhhhhh you looked at the standings (so you say).

But yet you somehow failed to manage to realize and comprehend how NY is only 1.0 games back of the 8th seed and also only 2.0 games out of the 6th seed?

Congratulations.

I bet you don't even understand there's still another 51 games left.

OMG OMG THE KNICKS ARE 2.0 GAMES BACK OF THE 6TH SEED.

WITH ANOTHER 51 GAMES REMAINING.

AND SO CALLED "GENIUS FANS" ARE SCREAMING "ELIMINATED"

🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅 @ you man.

And Steph Curry was picked 7th and we were left with Jordan Hill.

And yes- the above picks are exactly what we should be hoping for- I am somewhat confident that our FO can find really good talent later in the draft. And that is my point- we can’t win 1 extra game just because by golly, and pick 13th and have the player our FO wants go 12th or 11th.

In a perfect world, we end up 8th and that slot wins us #1.

I don’t understand how you can look at this roster and think- let’s get to the play offs.

Have we not seen that Randle is not Batman? That RJ is not even Robin?

And yet we want to be the perennial 1st round massacre exit of a play off team? Good enough to scrap it’s way in, but not good enough to do anything but embarrass itself.

And listen, I don’t think we’re good enough this year to even get to the play in position.

I’m not telling Thibs to lose games, though down the stretch I might encourage a different roster strategy.

I’m telling the FO that you aren’t as close as you might think, and do not trade for Lillard or anyone like that. If you have a chance to sell a piece for draft picks or youth, do so.

ToddTT @ 12/23/2021 7:27 AM
If I had ankle surgery, no way I get two months off. Two weeks, tops.

Suck it up Derrick!

TheGame @ 12/23/2021 7:32 AM
Kemba will start and hopefully up his value. We should then trade him to the first team willing to give up a 1st round pick for him (if possible) or a high second round pick. Duece and Quickley are the future at PG. Duece already looks like the steal of the draft. If his G league 3p% transfers to the NBA, he will be a 17 pt and 8 ast type player, which is a starting caliber PG.
