R.J. Barrett = 21 years old.
Deuce McBride = 21 years old.
Quentin Grimes = 21 years old.
Immanuel Quickley = 22 years old.
Obi Toppin = 23 years old.
Mitchell Robinson = 23 years old.
Imo both of Kevin Knox and Jericho Sims are wildcards @ 22 and 23 years of age but all 6 of these players above are all 23 years of age and younger and yes they'll be growing pains along the way but I'd love to see both Thibs and our Front Office continue to develop these kids throughout the next 3 years;
Because once all 6 are between the ages of 24-26 years old and damn near fully developed?
We could have a future homegrown powerhouse on our hands and for many of years to come too.
Heck. Julius Randle himself is still only 27 years old and imo the perfect veteran leader to lead these kids along the way (in terms of taking the pressure off of them moving forward).
The last time we had so many homegrown younger players was before the Melo trade and I don't believe that core was half as talented as the core we're currently featuring/developing.
What's even more exciting to me, is the fact that we'll be able to add even more younger homegrown players throughout the next 3+ drafts (in order to keep the new blood flowing).
I believe all 6 players (in bold) are must keepers moving forward into the future.
Ah, the “opinion” of nine “writers” who put Zion and Michael Porter Jr. in the top ten.
We’ll see how it plays out.
I mean yea I'll still gamble on a injured Zion and MPJ over our guys.
You can reasonably say they have injury deficits, and not talent deficits.

Your favorite Trae young and Luka Doncic are doing an AWFUL job @ leading their teams to wins this year.
And so are a lot of other players listed on that list.
So what's your point?

Credible enough.
You're delusional if you strongly disagree with it.
These five are rotation KEEPERS .....
Deuce McBride = 21 years old.
Quentin Grimes = 21 years old.
Immanuel Quickley = 22 years old.
Obi Toppin = 23 years old.
Mitchell Robinson = 23 years old.
Sims maybe Raw, but the player we need throughout a season to come in for any big men injuries.
I would've like to see Knox in a steady lineup for 18 min a game .. something the Knicks never gave him.

Come on man.
How can you leave out R.J. Barrett?!?!?
He's I believe the youngest (of them all) and has already shown NBA flashes of two way player;
And you're leaving him out of the rotation @ only 21 years of age?
We haven’t seen enough of these guys to know anything.
My hope is they can be a solid core, a solid foundation.
I don’t think anyone of them are stars.
RJ Barrett who showed signs of being an All Star has definitely taken a pretty significant step back this year.
Mitchell for all his flashes is still winded after 5 minutes of game action and one awkward fall from being lost for the season. And he isn’t signed past this year.
Grimes & McBride have what, less than 200 minutes of NBA action.
My hope is that Thibs & the FO work on their time in the rotation.
But I don’t think you can think that group as a core is going to do anything moving forward.
On a Play off type team, the highest anyone of them rank as far as talent is maybe 4th - meaning we have to find 3 talents better somewhere.

RJ, Deuce, IQ, Grimes, Toppin, Mitch, Simms. That's the young crew IMHO. No clue on Knox but just don't group him with those guys for whatever reason.
I tell you what, I have seen enough to tell me that all of those guys have a chance to be solid role players. I don't know if their individual top end talent would make them impactful starters but the possibilities are there to fill and that's all you ask for. You can see the floor with each kid. Quite frankly, with the exception of Mitch and Simms, I see all as hard workers who at least understand what they have to do to get better and put in the work.
It's up to the FO to help put them in places to succeed.

RJ Barret is #16 on the list you linked. Did you even read the link or are you just here to spread your usual Knicks hate for the holiday season?

Yup and now would clearly be left off of any updated lists.
Major regression.

@ 21 years old he's actually one of the younger players on that list.
And a lot of other players on that list would be completely removed due to A.) Injury. B.) Regression and C.) Their teams ABSOLUTELY stinking.
And major regression?
Only 25 games in?
Funny.
Because during his last 3 games (before getting hit with covid) he combined for 70 points (23.3 points per game) along with 12/20 from 3 (.600%).
But yet you're talking about "major regression"?
Unbelievable. Get real dude. He's freaking 21 years old.

Why are you repeatedly fixated on his last 3 games when you can use a much larger body of work by comparing all of last season vs a quarter of this season?
Is it because that will tell you he has been awful this year?

RJ has statistically been worse. His age is irrelevant.
You're basically saying because he's 21 he can regress. Some 21 year Olds just keep getting better.
Your boy isn't.
Just man up about it.
Knicks have some young guys who play hard and may or may not be playoff quality NBA players. None of them have shown they are consistent to be that (yet). There isnt a single guy in that group that is even close to inspiring enough to build a team around. Thats not hate, thats an honest view.
For some perspective... Lakers traded
Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, De'Andre Hunter, Brandon Ingram
For Anthony Davis. Of the guys you mentioned are any as good or talented as Ingram or Ball? Right now looks like we have some Harts and Hunters but are short on the Ingram and Lonzo tier guys (maybe RJ, but he's NOT shown it this year)
So to sum up the Knicks HAVE young players. Whether or not any are very good remains to be seen, and if we were trade them all in now whats the value? At best an older 2nd tier star like one of the Portland guards or Bradley Beal or Brandon Ingram.
I love all our young guys. Looking forward to seeing how they turn out. No pretending were are sitting on a mound of talent. Im just glad we are using the draft and developing guys. We WONT get lucky without doing what we are doing (like finding a Jokic, FVV, etc)
