“Knicks win! Knicks fans miserable!”
HofstraBBall @ 12/28/2021 10:27 PM
The Knicks hold the Wolves to 18% 3pt shooting and 88 points!!

They would like to thank Malik Beasley.

Hope McBride gets an opportunity tomorrow.

Won on the road holding a high scoring team to 88 points. Thibs really distributed the minutes too. Just thought maybe someone should say something positive.
BRIGGS @ 12/28/2021 10:42 PM
Man thibs is tough on obi

to add to the positivity Thibs using Grimes in the clutch is an improvement.

Bench played well. Mitch had a great night. Randle chipped in 15 boards. Thibs played Grimes more minutes than EF.

yes.

Knicks: 96.
Wolves: 88.

Mitchell Robinson was big time tonight.

32 minutes.
Only two fouls.
14 points.
7/8 FG.
18 REBOUNDS (6 Offensive boards).
2 steals.
1 block.

He was also the anchor of a Defense who only allowed 88 points.

I've gotta mention R.J. Barrett too.

Kid started off bad. 3 early fouls. Starter off 0/7 throughout 3 quarters.

But Thibs believed in him. Sent him out there in the 4th Q.

And R.J. delivered with 8 points off 3/3 from the field. Finished the game with a points differential of +5.

I can (as a fan) live through R.J. growing pains. I'm willing to. Because I understand he's only 21 years of age and still learning. He's a pup.

Julius Randle I love him. Even despite a 5/20 rough shooting night. His effort and hustle was there with 15 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block (13 points).

Kemba Walker wasn't magical tonight but imo he kept the team calm. Never let the game get out of control. Helped lead us like a veteran leader despite a box score that doesn't stand out.

Quentin Grimes. He was fun to watch. Can shoot the 3 with a smooth release but his Defense was outstanding tonight and really enjoyed watching coach Thibs give this Rookie a good 31 minutes (finished with a +6). That was fun; While giving Evan Fournier only 24 minutes (-3). The ball movement and defense is exciting with Grimes on the court.

My only coaching complaint, is that I wish both Immanuel Quickley and Obi Toppin played more tonight. Their electric energy tonight was also really fun to watch. They combined for 13 points off 5/8 from the field shooting, 7 assists and 2 rebounds along with a +18 points differential (despite only IQ 14 minutes and Obi 10 minutes).

But then again. Maybe coach Thibs is playing chess and me checkers. Because we've got 3 games in 4 nights. Now 2 more games next 3 nights. So maybe coach Thibs plans on unleashing both of IQ and Obi tomorrow night and on fresh legs too. Deuce McBride too?

It was a sloppy game. But I really enjoyed it as a fan.

Our kids went out there and won a game, a game that we were supposed to win. As the favorites. And they won it on the road too. Something Boston failed to do last night against the same depleted Minnesota team.

Two game winning streak.

he's good for the occasional 3pter- but it is his ability to get to the hoop that makes him productive.

If only he could finish

with all of Randle's misses, plenty of rebounds to be had.

Gotta wonder why Greg Monroe isn’t on a team before all of this, he is still decent
Clean @ 12/28/2021 11:01 PM

Randle got his money so he good. He not even trying to look interested

Evan Fournier needs to become eliminated from Thibs rotation. For at least 10 games.

Lol Barrett 0 points- Fournier 10 pts.
EF -10

RJ -3

You spoke too soon.

R.J = +5.
EF = -3.

Sometimes it's not about how you start, it's about how you finish (3/3 from the the field in the 4th Q with 8 points and 1 assist down the stretch);

Oh yeah...

R.J. Barrett = 21 years old with better D.
Evan Fournier = 29 years old with atrocious D.

ToddTT wrote:The defense is brutal to watch. Kemba and EF make me nauseous.

D-LEAGUE Wolves team or not. 20 games in a row with 100+ points heading into tonight's game. Knicks held them to under 90 points.

Mitchell Robinson was a Defensive stopper tonight and our young kids especially Grimes were playing tight D on the perimeter.

I think once we get Deuce McBride back and EFs minutes go down we're going to see last years D again especially once Nerlens Noel returns.

R.J. fell into early foul trouble. It happens.

Evan Fournier = +/- of -9.

But those are just stats.

Evan Fournier is ATROCIOUS on Defense and he flat out stinks.

Fournier has 25% of our offense, but thats just stats

But yet out of 10 players who played, Evan Fournier just so happened to be one of only two Knicks in the - (and the other wasn't 21 year old RJ fresh off a 10 game absence either).
