It has to be our defensive scheme it happens every game. Bad shooting teams always shoot lights out against us.

It’s a 3 point shooting league

Regardless of who is playing, we always give up wide open 3s to the opposing teams pick n pop center.

I remember watching Kris Humphries make a 3 against us

The Randle thing aside I just don't understand how we can be so good last year and so bad this year. We have a majority of the same players. I can understand our record being worst due to team getting better. Most of this season we have not looked like an actual NBA level team.

RJ shot 1-8 from 3 tonight. He still shot 50% overall and had 26 points. Hopefully there's a take away from this...put the ball on the floor and drive!!!

Last year was a fluke. No fans in the stands in away games, the stupid bubble left players gassed as the season started right after Lebron got his coronation

It's a make or miss league...U thought the ball movement was good for the most part, but we missed a ton of open shots!
Kemet @ 12/31/2021 10:21 PM
No D.Rose, Randle, or Kemba .. Means the Knicks have to give 30 min or more to the winning performing players .. Quickley, Burks, Toppin, Taj Gibson (maybe MitchRob too).

How come Thibs NEVER went with the lineup he played the entire 4th qtr. to beat the Pistons.

Throughout the game Knox & Barrett & Fournier STINKED like a Skunk on Defense!

The same thing I was wondering. The 4th was the time to try the lineup that played well last game but he never went with it. It does not matter anyway. How badly we shot this game no way we was going to win. Our best 3pt shooter Grimes was throwing up bricks.

This is what I've seen this game. Again most of us figured there would be some transition time to adjust to playing w/o Randle

Positives

RJ looked more aggressive and seemed to benefit from the increased pace and spacing

Ball movement started well and more players were involved offensively

Negatives

Toppin looks lost/not confident - like he's not sure how to assert himself. Maybe IQ or Kemba would help bring out his strengths

Defense was very inconsistent/poor

Outside shooting offered lots of wide open looks but we couldn't hit the side of the barn

In fairness to Randle he would have helped against a team like OKC - since he's pretty much better than anyone in their frontcourt. But for many of us - this is about seeing how we adjust and play differently without Randle and an offense run through him. Will RJ step up and play better. Will Toppin show he can contribute not just in spurts? I think we'll have a better sense after a few games.

I also think this experiment would help with a veteran PG as McBride probably needs some time to figure out his own adjustments. Multiple changes to a starting lineup makes it harder to compare/contrast with a small sample size. By the third game w/o Randle NYKMentality will hopefully finish posting his dissertation titled "Julius Randle: Love is Blind"

When players are not clicking together in a lineup, its hard for them to do anything good.
When you seen Barrett calling the shots on offense in the first half .. the game was LOSS !!!

Clean @ 12/31/2021 10:28 PM
Look at these shooting percentages.
25%
33%
12.5%
16.7%
33.3%
37.5%
37.5%

We had no chance to win shooting this badly. Remember a good portion of these shots were open.

Very disappointing loss. I was so excited to get see what these kids would do with the extended minutes, shots and responsibilities with Randle, Kemba and Rose all out and they shit the bed. Figures OKC would have their best shooting game of the season too. Can't blame any one player either. Everyone was bad (except RJ but he had his issues). It's like we are the go-to team for players or teams to have career games or shoot insanely from three. Can't win scoring just 80 points on 8/41 from three. Amazing we wasted $78M on a bum who scores just 3 points in a game where we needed him the most! I think I've seen enough of Fournier. I've tried to be patient but I've honestly had it. I really dislike his game and I just want him gone. He is such an unreliable and unpredictable player playing a role where we needed consistent production.

RJ finished with 26 and had some nice drives to the hoop but his outside shooting has been awful this season. Randle gets a lot of heat for his play this season but RJ deserves blame too. He has not taken that next step.

It would have been nice to enter 2022 with a .500 record but I don't think we'll get another chance again this season. Likely looking at a mid 30s wins at best and fighting for that 10th spot in the play-in.
