Just look at how slow and lazy he screens and cuts to the basket for this PnR, he actually prevents IQ from getting to the basket forcing him to take a mid rang jumper, had he stood on the perimeter, Grimes man would have had to come help leaving him wide wide open for a 3.
Mitch plays this game as if it's his side job.
We talk about Randle's body language, but Mitch man, this guy can be so much better than he is if he played harder and smarter.
Thibs should challenge him to take at least 1 perimeter shot per game or else he will bench him...
Keep asking you every time you complain about a player. What would you do? Who would you trade them for? One of the untamed, unavailable All Stars you keep asking for?

I would trade him for any big man who had more use full skills , plays harder and smarter.
what is a Big man with no post moves, No perimeter shot, a half ass rim runner, Suspect FT shooter, Low energy, avg rebonder and avg defender...15 minutes of the bench, that's what he is
I don't think he has the passion, he's kind of aloof and definitely low in the energy dept.
He just plays like a FAT boy and he'looks to be in decent shape.
plus Randle has too many "CRACK HEAD" games when they start together
Mitch has not improved his game in his years in the league. Not a single move in the post, not even an improvement from the line in what, 3 years? Trade fodder. We better not extended him. Don't really want him on the team, i
Would rather Simms got burn.

He’s Marcus Camby with possibly more upside on defense. Trading him would be a huge mistake just like trading Camby was 20 years ago

I don't want to dump him, I want to get value back. Something like Cristian Woods or a Terrance Ross. If you like him so much what amount would you resign him for? I would not go over 10 mil per, something in that price range. I hardly doubt he agrees to that deal

Camby could shoot. Not a close comparison.

And Camby would shoot. In actual games, not just on Youtube. And Camby weighed about half as much. Absolutely no comparison.
I like Mitch, but he's starting to smell of Frankie disease. Years in the league, no discernible game improvement, unless you think not being injured and not fouling out in 15 minutes is improvement.

Once again, who would you trade him for? Name one guy. Since there are so many that for your criteria.

While I like Mitch and believe he possesses next level athleticism - he really hasn't displayed any skill-related progress aside from seeming to improve effort on his boxing out at times. He did work on getting stronger and hopefully now he's finding that balanced/ideal weight that allows him enough strength to not get pushed around as easily - but also retain that spring that separated him from other rim running centers. Overall, what you see from Mitch is what he is and likely will be. We all wish he would take an occasional jump shot and while it seems like he could - he hasn't in 4 seasons so don't think he will start now.
He's no Marcus Camby - but he is an athletically outstanding player (at times) that can do some things that many other centers are unable to do. I don't know if Myles Turner is really an upgrade but maybe he is a better fit alongside Randle? He's tradeable for the right deal.

the point isn't so much about trading him because he can be use full in short spurts, heck you can waive him with that min contract.
Any trade would involve a package because of how little he makes, and the fact that you want to upgrade not make a lateral trade.
Get Myles Turner. Open up the floor for Randle, Barrett, Fournier, Kemba, rose etc to operate. Better defensive presence and provides more options on offense.

Funny how you come up with your own reason why your suggestion, in just a couple of posts prior, makes no sense. So the possibility to trade him for "any big man" does not exist? Which is why asked for you to name that unnamed star.
So you are now suggesting we waive our starting 23 year old C who can easily average 10-10-2 at said age?
Do you have any other suggestions not based on reality?

The pacers want more that what the knicks are willing to offer
Well….from the actual conversation I had with Mitch before he was drafted. It was clear that basketball wasn’t his first or only love. Unlike RJ IQ and others, he has interest outside of basketball. He was just blessed with height and athleticism. Which may be why his game hasn’t evolved. But I think that’s fine as a low cost backup center. We either make a trade or pickup a starting center in free agency. I don’t think Mitch is stopping us from making the playoffs. We have other problems that also needs to be addressed. Mitch is valuable and teams would love to have him.

a better, more skilled, harder working player! Duh! Cant you read? Also one that can shoot 3s, has a good handle as well and can shoot 3s.
Its Luke Kornet!
Keep in mind knicks1248 really thought in his heart of hearts handing the keys and offense to Trey Burke would get us to 50 wins.

Maybe they do. Until they have to move him. That’s how trades work typically. Everyone’s asking price always starts high.

Yeah you can't teach size... and apparently you can't teach a big man to shoot jumpers in games if he doesn't want to.
Though you can't really teach the god-given hands, balance, and fast-twitch explosion that Mitch has either.
But how about Kornet's sister, wow!

I love the reverse jinx. Mitch having his best game as a knick.
He played like a monster tonight.
Key with Mitch is staying on the floor. When the Knicks move the ball on offense he finds himself open under the basket.
