Maybe true, maybe not.

Good point.
Me personally I think the chemistry can still be there even if they are not friends. They both familiar with each other and should remember where each other will be on the floor. So I’m hoping that chemistry or familiarity will help the team.

Its a nice story that might or might not be true. Its not like they were puppies from the same litter. They were teammates for one season. THey are pros now. Cam has to now understand RJ is held in high regard by this FO. Hope thats not an issue. Not so sure there was great chemistry on that squad. Three incredible teenage talents did not do bad, but did not really click on all cylinders either.
Mabye RJ was a dick? Maybe cam was not happy being third fiddle? WE don’t know.

No need to worry about the logjam, sounds like he'll be out until near the trade deadline

On that last point, there was speculation floating around yesterday that RJ and Cam actually didn’t get along great at Duke. While it’s true that they may not have been best friends, I can say that reports of discord between the two are likely overblown. While it’s impossible to know the dynamic between two players who were teenagers at the time, I was told that the notion they weren’t close is based largely on the fact that they rarely hung out off the court, but on it, they were regular workout partners. The Hawks, I’m told, interviewed Barrett and Reddish together, and did their due diligence to try and pair the two together, but the Knicks were set on taking RJ third. - Knicks Film School
Wingspan = 7'1. This is good.
Damn maybe we gave up too much lol.

Nah, they have a boatload of pics that they'll have to trade eventually. They can afford to gamble with a Hornets picks that will probably convey this year. I'm not as psyched as some other posters, but Cam has potential as a 3&D, who can provide some tertiary ball handling. Those aren't cheap. He just needs to work.

great use of the asset. We have Cam for nest year under that rookie scale deal and his bird rights. He's 22 and has shown he can be an impact player on both ends. He came cheap for a reason. He's got warts. His shooting really took a notch up this year and if that's a trend with him we got a steal.

Oh dang……tertiary ball handling
that is epic

One of my rules is never listen to Berman. He is only slightly better than Isola and Bondy. All 3 are still trash.

Big step up from Bullock, who might have just been a smidgeon above Mitch on the ball handling hierarchy
So is Thibs unenthusiastic about Cam, or is he hinting or pressuring for a trade of other player on the roster?

Honestly he needs to learn to play like Grimes.
Adding Reddish adds athleticism, adds speed, adds length and adds another young prospect. I hope our future moves continue to trend in this direction...

Hang on…lemme check the standings. Be right back………
Yup, 11th place. Why change things up, its all going so well 😂🤣😂
Wait, we are in tertiary playoff position!
I deleted a previous reply to what Thibs said because it seemed more confrontational than intended when I read it back. My main point is that there has to be more coming near the trade deadline. We traded a non rotational player for one who wanted out from his old team to get more opportunities. We already have a log jam at his positions that is temporarily alleviated due to injures. Thibs is also known to ride his starters hard so its all not making sense unless there is more to come at a later date. If we don't make a move to clear up the logjam by the trade deadline there will be drama from someone due to a lack of playing time.

Agreed, it should be easy to move Burks to a contender. Sell high.

I agree. But after thinking about it, will this team ever be healthy? We have an injury riddled back court in Kemba and Rose. Cam joins that injury club. He only played 20 sonething games last year and missed some time this year. And the way thibs rides his starters I’m sure load management will come into play. But if we ever get 100% healthy then it will be a problem. But when have we been healthy this season. There’s always 2 or 3 players out. Another small trade for picks would help the log jam. But right now cam is also injured slightly so I’m not sure he’s healthy enough to play right away. So we will see as thibs said. Injuries and Covid protocol might dictate the rotation all season.
