It's not even a question anymore.
Makes sense but I think they want to try and build Fournier value up. Look at the Cam trade when the hawks tried to get grimes. If they make him a starter teams won’t budge on requiring Grimes to take on Fournier.
Moving Fournier helps so much but he has to show value. Unfortunately like most French players in NY he is playing horribly.
Also we often forget it but Fournier is the second highest paid guy on the team. If they bench him for Grimes who is a rookie, it’s a fiasco. Best thing is to grit their teeth and then try and move him in the offseason.

Then what are we waiting for!
Grimes was good on the D last night.
Why? Thibs has shown that Grimes will get the minutes if he is playing better than EF.
Can honestly say Thibs may need to do the same with Randle and Obi. Obi was playing well last night and only played 15 minutes.

I have to tell you, I thought he was INCREDIBLE and think he will be lock down type guy

Grimes played more minutes. Whats your gripe
There are $78M reasons why this won't happen anytime soon.

For political reasons and to not under mind his boss, he has to start certain guys I’m sure. But he doesn’t have to play them a ton of mins. But the way Fournier has been shooting and grimes. U would think the smart thing to do is put your high percentage 3 pt shooters on the floor if Thibs is going to draw up a play for either a 3pt shot (rather EF than RJ take that last shot) or put your high offensive IQ and ball handlers on the floor in those 1 on 1 plays that starts at the 3 pt line, not Randle and RJ. Those guys are great playing down hill, not at the 3 pt line where they have to make a play. RJ yes Randle no. That’s on the coach.
The rotation change that needs to happen is McBride as the backup to Walker at PG. leave Burks and IQ at the 2 where they belong

I don’t think it’s entirely out of the realm of possibility Fournier is traded next summer. Dolan has actually changed (a little) in recent years
That Grimes is earning it shows Thibs is willing to develop. The kid is playing free and easy so why rush him to start? Let him succeed and keep learning. Why do we assume he is being held back.
Best case is both succeed and one gets traded for high value.

Randle needs to be capped at 25 - 30 mins per game. Obi is clearly the better player already just less disciplined which isn't really saying that Randle play with discipline.
