Tonight Game explains why Butler had demanded to be traded ASAP from coach Thibs Timberwolves.
Thibs so-call coaching actually divided the Timberwolves starter players .. Butler Wiggins KAT
Same as Thibs coaching been doing this season with the Knicks starter lineup.
Cam is not a complimentary player .. the Knicks should've kept Knox.

I was never High on Cam when he was on ATL. I have to hope I am wrong or we just wasted a pick.
It would be nice is somehow we can hear from Leon Rose before the trade deadline. Are they satisfied with what's happening?
It's crazy how much JVG was gushing about the young guys in the 4th. Quick is not a PG and still has trouble breaking down the D but he is a willing passer so the offense looks better with him running it than with Randle. JVG really does his homework. He specifically professed his love for McBride even though Thibs gives him no minutes and explained why perfectly. This game has me wishing we went with JVG as the coach instead of Thibs. He is saying everything we say.
Looking at the 4th quarter and Cam has the same issue Quick does. He does not square up when he shoots. Every one of his shots was off balance when he still had time to square up. JVG even called him out on that air ball off balance step back 3. He did look good on his drive to the hoop though. It looked effortless.

JVG said it best about the Knicks starter lineup giving up 25 points in 3 quarters "their not working together, so the Feb trade deadline seems the best option". And that's all on coach Thibs !!!
If it is on the coach - you fire the coach. If it is on the players - you trade the players before the deadline. Which is it? Or do you mean to say that the FO has failed to get coach Thibs the players he wanted?
Listen to this quote by Obi when talking about his minutes. He says the same cookie cutter non drama answers like Grimes when talking about his playing time. Now pay close attention to the last part. "...we have to live with it." You don't just live with something you agree with. That is why I don't pay attention to that BS about Grimes being better for getting 0 playing time for all those games. We have great drama free kids so they are not going to say something that will cause drama no matter what they feel. If sitting on the bench made players better Knox would be Lebron James by now.

Knicks fans are the best! 13 minutes they give new players nowadays...

The more JVG lists all of our issues the more I want him to coach. The best we get out of Thibs is 'we need to find a way to fix the starters.'

I don't even care about him not speaking to the press, I'm even fine with players struggling or not being able to hit their shots,- it's this kind of s*** that annoys me:
It's every game- why does he think he doesn't have to bother with the in game huddles anymore? he's supposed to be the leader, but he's acting like he's retiring and is just counting down the days. He's got 4 more seasons left!!! I pray we have a trade lined up for when he becomes eligible because at least it would make sense of this complete mental check out, because if we haven't and he's acting like this and we're stuck with him, we are stuffed!
I mean what was so catastrophic this season that warrants this level of complete disengagement by him? He signed the contract extension after all the roster moves, so he must have been okay with that. Some fans boo'd him, some were awful when he had covid, and he was asked to stop forcing things all the time and share the ball. And that pushed him over the edge?! Apologies to him if he's got personal stuff going on, but man, this is infuriating to watch.

JVG had one of the most stacked rosters in the history of the NBA. Yet even his trip to the Finals had only been possible thanks to a couple of last-second miracle shots. It is easy to look all-knowing and sagely from the commentator's booth, but he would have hardly done better than Thibs with this current NY Knicks team.
And his comments about the starters are simply laughable, when he himself rode his starters and put young players into the doghouse more than virtually any other coach in the history of the NBA.
My memory of the late 1990s Knicks: great players, great characters, a fraud for a head coach.

If Obi would have gotten a turnover he would have only gotten 10 minutes instead of 12.
let's be honest- 5 of 12 is one of Randle's better shooting nights.
OBI's game is so much different from randle
He's not a ball handler, he's never been double team, and he hardly plays with Mitch so he's able to get to the rim.

What do you expect him to say?
Also, what do you think Thibs is saying that Leon wouldn't be saying?

You are correct about that. You know what you do: You play better and put the coach in the uncomfortable position of needing to play you more minutes by performing. And performing without mistakes. And then performing by hitting your 3 point shots. And finally performing by dominating on both ends of the court.
Development, minutes, and raw performance are all intertwined. There is a wide birth between guys like Knox and IQ/Grimes/Obi. The last trio are learners and hard workers and smart workers.
Miami has the same tactics.
Ugh.
I'd guess, partly cause Mitch/Noel are getting more FT's and partly cause RJ also getting a lot more FT attempts

All true. I’ve seen a lot of this including at key points in the game. Not dealing well w adversity.

I'm guessing (without any substance behind it) that Randle knows he is getting shipped out Feb 3.
Last night was the first time Grimes was run off of multiple screens to try to get open? I kinda shut down the game last night so I missed much of the second half to see if there was more of that. Maybe someone else mentioned already.
But this is a nice revelation.
Don't know if Grimes will get to the Duncan/Herro level of shooting but the potential is there. And he brings the defense
If we don’t trade randle we need to get him away from the team for some extended time/ personal reasons. He is so into his own head right now and it’s making the whole starting unit play way way too tight.
He needs to get his head right.
That said I am hoping he’s headed to Sac for a pg
