It's durability issues like last night (sore back?! Come on brah!) why I'm not going to be heart broken if we trade Mitch. It doesn't make sense right now to spend $90M/5 years on a Center when we are such a bad team and have so many needs. Plus can we really trust Mitch not to 'Randle' us? Aren't Centers going to be available around the 10th pick in this draft too?

Sign and trade Mitch for Giannis.
And move Burks to center.
And then Randle plays PG full time.
Noooooooooo....

If we added "Shooting outside of 3 feet" he would be in the 1%
and just for the record - I like Mitch and think we should keep/resign him
and then there are the things probably not in stats, e.g., his ability to cover at 3pt line whether close out or switch
His hands are great -- we take them for granted, until we see noel try and catch a pass or alley opp.
And he's not a selfish rebounder, He actually boxes out to the benefit of Randle's rebounding numbers
sure it would be great for him to develop some more offense but honestly do we want him taking 12 footers and if so why?
Perry needs to pull the trigger on the 4 year $55 million extension NOW

What makes you think they can find out who Mitch's agent actually is and that Mitch would accept it?

He’s with The Wasserman Agency represented by Thad Foucher and Joe Smith. Perry and Rose are goofing off because he’s not with CAA

Kessler from auburn is in a good choice
ortg/drtg/net
knicks: 108.2 / 110.0 / -1.8
knicks with mitch ON: 108.9 / 110.3 / -1.3
knicks with mitch OFF: 104.9 / 106.6 / -1.7
as a contrast, here's rudy gobert (a similar zero offense, all defense style of player)
utah: 115.6 / 109.1 / +6.5
utah with rudy ON: 115.9 / 103.8 / +12.1
utah with rudy OFF: 111.9 / 111.1 / +.8
mitchell has zero offensive game outside of 3 feet - much like gobert. but his impact defensively, despite his raw stats, is no where close to rudy's.
the stats actually say the knicks defense is worse with him on the court.
to make things look worse for mitch, here's taj gibson's
knicks with taj ON: 106.9 / 103.4 / +3.4
knicks with taj OFF: 107.5 / 110.5 / -3.0
knicks defense is way better when taj is on the court vs. mitch. and the defense is worse when taj is off the court vs. mitch.
these stats are not end all be all but it's something to consider when evaluating him. good news is that last year knicks' defense was slightly better with mitch on the court but he only played 30 games (and the gyms were empty so overall, last year was an asterisk).

look at the splits if available... Mitch was abysmal for his first half while he worked his way back into shape. The whole season is part of the picture but what he brings when he's healthy is much more relevant. How often you GET that from Mitch is a fair knock as well, but if you want to evaluate him has a player look at what he brings when he's healthy, and that is fantastic.

Also, need 5 man rankings. Mitch playing Kemba and Fournier isn't going to look as good. Not too mention Randle's habit of just ignoring defensive rotations. This is a bit nuanced. But yeah, Mitch was bad earlier in the season
Mitch is insanely eff% on offense. He needs to play with penetrating guard he can follow to the rim. If we had a guy like Fox, Mitch's scoring and offensive rebounding would be much higher. A Randle run offense is the WORST for Mitch.
Swapping Mitch for Turner would be terrible. Turner is NOT an eff% scorer. He's < average 3point shooter. He's a below average rebounder. He always goes for the block, gets some and is out of position other times. He misses big chunk of the season so its not like he's a big health upgrade over Mitch...

Watch us get a pg this summer only to watch Mitch sign with the pistons because our stupid front office thinks he isn’t worth $60 million after thinking Fournier is worth $80 million and Randle $100+ million
This franchise is lost
