1. Any war will end.
2. Every nation is made up of different people. Not everyone participates in the war - do not blame regular people.
3. Politicians will come to an agreement, and you will be left with the slop that you poured over "your ideological opponents."
4. During the war, EVERYONE lies. Do not distribute information that you are not 101% sure of (or cannot verify). If you want to write something, write only about what you saw with your own eyes. It's honest. The rest is participation in lies.
5. If you want to express your attitude to politics, express it, and it is not necessary to offend anyone.
6. You don’t like the opinion of another person, but you really want to express yourself - speak out about this opinion, and not about this person, because most often you don’t know that individual personally.
7. Hating people you don't know is a pathology.
8. Relationships between people are very complex, even at the level of a family or a work collective. Between states it is even more difficult. Everything is simple and understandable only to fools. Don't jump to conclusions - don't be a fool.
9. Always be Human and remember point 1.
Let there be peace !!!

POLITICO Playbook: Double trouble for BidenBy RYAN LIZZA, RACHAEL BADE, TARA PALMERI and EUGENE DANIELS 09/21/2021 09:40 AM EDT
Ben Schreckinger’s “The Bidens: Inside the First Family’s Fifty-Year Rise to Power,” out today, finds evidence that some of the purported HUNTER BIDEN laptop material is genuine, including two emails at the center of last October’s controversy.A person who had independent access to Hunter Biden’s emails confirmed he did receive a 2015 email from a Ukrainian businessman thanking him for the chance to meet Joe Biden. The same goes for a 2017 email in which a proposed equity breakdown of a venture with Chinese energy executives includes the line, “10 held by H for the big guy?” (This person recalled seeing both emails, but was not in a position to compare the leaked emails word-for-word to the originals.)
MORE: Emails released by a Swedish government agency also match emails in the leaked cache, and two people who corresponded with Hunter Biden confirmed emails from the cache were genuine.

The Hunter Biden Laptop Is RealOur ‘newspapers of record’ become something else when they conspire to deny facts and hide truth.

Independent Source Confirms Authenticity of Damning Hunter Biden EmailsZachary Evans September 21, 2021·
Shreckinger’s source remembered viewing both emails but was not able to compare the text leaked to the Post with the original emails. Other emails from the leaked files matched a cache of emails released by a Swedish government agency, two people who communicated with Hunter Biden said.President Biden has insisted that he was never involved in his son’s business dealings.
Citing its hacked materials policy, Twitter censored the damning New York Post article that exposed the emails in the run up to the 2020 presidential election, blocking users from tweeting out a link to the story and from direct messaging it to other users. The Federal Elections Commission recently ruled that the censorship was not politically motivated and therefore did not qualify as an illegal in-kind contribution to the Biden campaign.
The president’s son is currently attempting to sell paintings at galleries run by art dealer Georges Bergès. The White House has agreed to an arrangement whereby the buyers will remain anonymous, however the high price of the paintings, some of which could sell for up to $500,000, has raised eyebrows.
“There is simply no way an artist who has never even juried into a community center art fair is going to suddenly show up in New York selling art for half a million a pop,” former Office of Government Ethics head Walter Shaub said on Law & Crime’s Objections podcast in August.
Shaub told CNN in July that the arrangement was “the perfect mechanism for funneling bribes.”
Of course the Biden Administration is going to do nothing aside from some light hitting sanctions. To do something would raise the spotlight on Joe Biden, his son Hunter Biden, and apparently trucks of cash coming from Ukraine for clear quid pro quo.Two years ago, I brought the Hunter Biden laptop and the issue in a thread designed to talk about these issues and I was told that I was pushing lies and that the laptop was fake and that I was a liar. And that if I continued to discuss it, the implication would be that I would be "punished" for discussing it any further.
Well, it's been vetted as real and since it makes Biden look bad in an already scandal filled year plus of his administration, he's going to do nothing to further lay cover for his crack head new artist son and I guess more people are going to get left to die. Just like in Afghanistan.
Briggs, I love you brother, you know that. But your politics and my politics are clearly not welcome here. Other people, sure, but not ours. That's just how it goes. And I've said it before multiple times, this forum is better off if politics aren't discussed at all, but if you let people do it, then you have to be open to all politics. Not just one specific type of politics from one specific direction.
You were banned Briggs. I was basically threatened to be banned. You and I are two of the heaviest creators of actual Knicks discussion on this forum. What's the point of losing actual Knicks discussion for non basketball issues that are already going to polarize people? I can't answer that. You can't answer that. The only answer is apparently we need to be silent.
I wish the people of Ukraine nothing but good fortune and safety in the harsh times ahead.
I honestly dont care about politics anymore TT. Not here not in real life--its not something that I have any more interest in. Im just disturbed in 2022 that anything this archaic has to happen. Why did I post it on the main forum--its beyond politics or whatever. Its major league news and I hope and pray we dont start tic for tat and begin a war that changes life as we know it. This is the most important subject since covid and potentially much worse. So to me its a talking point for adults even in our basketball forums.
What are you talking about. We went to war with Iraq on the pretense that they had weapons of mass destruction. How about Afghanistan we went because of terrorist and guess what there are still terrorists there and we left them billions in military weapons.

Question is if you wanted the US to stay in Afghanistan?
I'm not sure what you expect to happen in the short term with Ukraine. Putin has threatened Nukes for anyone interfering - Russia has over 6000 warheads. The US and NATO have put armed forces in neighboring NATO countries. There were major protests against the war in various Russian cities. This is essentially the first major ground war in Europe since WW2 - so a ground-swell of Anti-Russian sentiment is likely to build with most European countries. Sanctions have started to be imposed. If Putin's long game here is to occupy Ukraine or expand back to the USSR - that seems like a plan that will create almost global hatred of Russia. This appears to be a situation that requires a long game strategy for the US - there is no instant solution to this unless you are looking for WW3 - potential global nuclear war end of everything including the Ultimateknicks.

100% right
Only strategy is long term. Start banning Russia from rest of world . Drag them into financial quagmire. Have their own citizen fight a war for the rest of world. This is 20 year war of attrition. Cannot act on this with military cyber etc. that’s a game changing mistake. The best thing is do nothing accept financial sanctions.

My answer is no, staying in Afghanistan wasn't accomplishing anything. USSR couldn't do shit there awhile ago and had to bail. IMHO, there had to be a better way to handle our withdrawal though.
No idea what's going to happen in the Ukraine. Wonder what global hatred is going to mean to Putin, if anything. If global hatred (and some internal hatred)doesn't stop him from taking over Ukraine, then what's to stop Mr. KGB from inflating back to the old Soviet borders? Which of the -stans are next in line? When does the US or NATO call his bluff on the nukes, if it is a bluff? Why do I feel like I've seen this before? Unlike the Cuban Missile Crisis, there are no chips on our side to pony up to the negotiating table. We dismantled nukes in Turkey/promised not to invade Cuba again, the Soviets moved everything back out of Cuba. Not sure what's up for negotiations now.

Putin has Mitch's father. He holds the wildcard up his sleeve.
Nothing to joke about nalod? People are dying and losing their country????
I can see your really broken up about all this. Clowning us with "Chet is the new larry bird?
Your doing the Morality thing? YOu promoted Trump and did the "What did we have to lose" and soon after was "There was good people on both sides in charlottesville", of course he was talking about Nazis!
I remember you had family that perished in Europe during the Holocaust but being the hindsight dude you often are failed to see the correlation BEFORE TRUMP. So basically since you were wrong and did your tiny part to enable Trump, who did his part to enable Putin you in this thread did this:I honestly dont care about politics anymore TT. Not here not in real life--its not something that I have any more interest in.How convenient of you.
Your read what your boy trump said about Putin recently? "Sanctions cost him $2, he is being smart".
Bring up shit and offer solutions as if they are so easy afterwards.
I am of Ukrainian Blood and sick over this. But I do shit like send money to eastern european Jews in trouble and go on missions to these places, real life shit, not UK morality plays. I don't fucking do facebook shit like "Im with the Ukraine" or white wash it like you with the impulse no filter threads you are not accountable.
Man the up on your proclamations from time to time instead of making new ones thinking you have some important shit to say. Yes these people are fleeing their homes and nobody is helping them. No shit.
Fact is the humans are awful to each other and the planet itself is hostile and bad things happen every day.Your a real humanitarian Briggs calling me out. You did your part. Good for you!
Notice Mitch's dad goes missing and the war starts? Coincidence? Sarcasm.
And, you gonna call out mitch because he is playing tonite when his dad is missing?
That’s a whole lot of writing when you could’ve simply thought about not putting a joke in this thread?
says the man with a thread for every synapse.............
I don't know what the US can do. If we really get involved does this turn into a new cold war? Do we do nothing and watch as Russia every few years take more territory? Apparently in 2014 they annexed Crimea from the Ukraine. It seems like they are going for the whole thing now. It also seems that Ukraine gave up their nukes in a deal because we said we would protect them from Russia. This is so complicated and can go horribly wrong no matter what decision we make.
It's been both fascinating and terrifying to watch this all play out, because you see the parallels. But now you throw in new wrinkles with nuclear arms and the age of information. How would 1939 have played out if you had Global powers broadcasting Hitler's movements before they happened? You have the Defense Ministry of Ukraine tweeting out instructions to its citizens on how to make Molotov cocktails!!!
I have no answers whether things should be done militarily. Sanctions don't seem like they're enough, but they're coming in droves from the entire world - sans China. Seems like a long-game solution to an immediate threat.
There is nothing good to come from this. Except maybe whining about the Knicks season takes a back seat.
To celebrate warmongers on the precipice of of so much death and destruction by choice is wrong.
All you hear is about how much Russia will gain, but below are some things they are on their way to losing as a result of Russian aggression:
- Finland who previously was against joining NATO, now wants in to avoid the same fate as Ukraine
- Nord Stream2 pipeline was cancelled by Germany (This pipeline would have solidified European dependence on Russian gas for another generation)
- Germany is now talking about building up its army for first time since WWII, that is very bad for Russia
The world is a complicated place, but when it comes to foreign policy it is critical for Americans to stick together and show a unified front against aggressors. Spitting in the face of democracy and attacking our own government only emboldens countries like Russia and China to take bolder and bolder steps to see their will imposed on the Global status quo.

How the Ukrainian President has risen to this crisis is nothing short of awe inspiring. These moments make heroes.
Also I’m sure China will now think twice with Tawain.
Good will come out of evil like it always has.

My daughter's mom (my wife) was born in Latvia but raised in America and my daughter's Grandma (my wifes mom) was both born and raised in Latvia.
My wife's mom told me many of years ago when I asked her about the Russians. She told me Russian people are kind and loving people; it's just their Government who she hates.
Don't be ashamed to be Russian man. You guys are good kind hearted people
(none of us can control who our Governments are).

There is no big balling in this time period with countries that have nuclear weapons. Stand down if we can at all costs and talk things through. Big balling is to risky and negotiations have to win the day. Weeks ago they shouldve counter acted this possibility by guaranteeing no Nato is Ukraine.
Sorry to write and OT but this sucks
I Fully get what you stated.. The situation is sad, we're all watching and many here has either served in country military
OR has family in our USA military service men and women.
We pray! for Ukraine ALL its people. When I worked for D.o.D as gov contractor combat engineer F14-Tomcat(NY Grumman) and Ft. Monmouth it was in Peace time administrations of George Bush senior RIP. Clinton followed. My years were nearly 21-22 years on Naval contractor side , then later
moved to NJ working at Ft. monmouth for CECOM engineering missions of Army & SOF (special operations forces) all in peace time 80s, 90s.
Lots has changed in the world politics but what remains consistent is the Russia's Putin is CRAZED and doesn't care for life ..solely a Dictator.
NATO and Biden admininistration with other countries will figure a way through this World Tragedy caused by RUSSIA lead

He has no way out. Isolated blackballed and his whole country knows it. This was not a war it was an obtuse over reach of monumental proportions. I thought it would take a long time to remedy but I’m not so sure now. Also I’m sure China will now think twice with Tawain.

Trumps response is bothersome. Fox News reporters have to correct the idiot anchors who are spewing a different propoganda. This combo divides us and plays into Putins wish that dilutes our response. It divides the GOP making the ignorant more polarized.
Not sure how Putin ranks as making worst decisons since 1947 but perhaps Tim Beer can produce a Tweet that has some advanced stats.
IF Putin drags this on the media will get fatigued and we’ll go back to being mad at Biden for higher gas prices and get manipulated in making it a political divide here.
Putin needs to fall out of a window as so many journalist's have trying to tell a truth.
