He’s earned his cash. Was wobbly to start season and 3 point shooters are gonna have 2-13 games. But overall he’s been a solid player.
With Iq coming on we have pretty good wing guys with Barrett Fournier iq
His defense still sucks bad
And setting the record for threes is fine, but rather meaningless. It’s a different game.
Still, the chemistry seems to be getting better, and he’s had numerous defensive plays recently where I think he’s giving better effort.
Hopefully we start next year in a better place than we did this year.

We need a new pg to keep Randle in check

even tho it's the coaches' job . . .

A PG won’t help Randle unless it’s Chris Paul and even that’s questionable. Randle wants the ball in his hands. He primarily works with Fournier on the court… and himself. He gets pissed when he isn’t featured as exemplified whenever Barrett starts playing great.
He has to be traded.
Fournier has been up and down and while his 3pt shooting is needed - his defense has always been suspect and he needs to be hid defensively on a team with 4 other strong defensive players. He would have been perfect on the old Spurs teams. On this team - he's probably a super sub 6th man due to our limited ability to cover for him defensively. I think many of us hope Grimes continues to improve which would naturally force Fournier to the bench in the near future.
He’s a good shooter. He will be better next year once we get a pg

Agree but literally no one wants his contract. It’s arguably the NBA’s worst contract going forward
He and Randle clearly don't like each other. I think he can be better/more effective with better chemistry players. I'd like to see how he plays without Randle tonight.
Fournier has been exactly as advertised. He’s a great shooter, good overall scorer and inconsistent defensive player, but not a liability. He isn’t a bad contract when compared to other shooters signed within the last few years. He’s better than Duncan Robinson, joe Harris, Bertans etc.

Our wings with Barrett, Fournier, Grimes, Reddish and Quickley at combo guard are real solid. Like every other conversation, it comes down to lead guard. The question becomes will we make Brunson the lead target with the goal of getting back into the playoff mix, or shoot higher and go big for SGA or D Mitchell which would involve many many first round picks and some behind the scenes work. Mitchell is a NYer, CAA guy and Johnnie Bryant’s guy. SGA is Kentucky family and RJ Barrett’s friend. Brunson has many connections of course. So need to really make an effort here.
he's a watered down H20, pun intended

If we can get a semi-decent starting PG I think he can be another Allan Houston for us. Houston also had a first year here that was mixed at best and then got much better

EF is a cheaper water too, overall. Even 25 years later...

H20 is Evian water and EF is Deer Park?

People forget how unpopular H20 was until we got to the playoffs. In fact regular season H20 was a frustrating experience, much like Fournier

Good catch. We blasted his contract and "softness". Now we remember the grit and clutch. Thats cool.
Phil can say "Evans contract is the worst!" Over and over. Its not even close. One might not like his game. His defense sucks, but his playmaking has improved and part of that was going to the rim more.
He is tradable but to what degree I can't say.

Knicks fans hate everyone at some point unless they're in the G League.

Knick fans fill the garden pretty dam good for a team that has scked for 20+ years. Fans in general probably have love/hate relationships with most players.. Theres only a couple of tom brady Michael Jordans in the world. The president of the US prob only has 50% fans. Thats it.
