This is in regards to the young players. RJ is the only one that showed any improvement the rest have not. I have to say Thibs has been terrible absolutely terrible this year. I know he is coming back to prove us wrong but I highly doubt he will. He is way to set in his ways for this team to be good next year. So this leads me to my next question how many games do the Knicks give Thibs next year before they show him the door. I have them giving him 25 games. With that said I hope the Knicks have their coach picked out soon as the season ends to replace him nothing wrong in being prepared to have a coach ready to step in. Thibs had failed this team big time this year. Even with a 9-10 pick or worse he won’t see much playing time that’s Thibs way. Thins is a decent coach but I wouldn’t say he is high quality.

Mitch, IQ, Toppin, Sims, McBride. Those are all the young guys who have played more than like 10 games for the Knicks?
I don't know how you can say only RJ has improved.

Because to say otherwise wouldn't fit "The Narrative."

Knicks did a great disservice to the young players this year. This is on Thibs the players you guys are mentioning their trajectory should be way ahead of what it is. None of them have shown marked improvement other than RJ. If not for Covid Grimes would not have seen the light of day. If not for an RJ injury. In which Thibs basically had him in a blowout. Mitch is the same player he was last year the year before he hasn’t had development to his game. IQ has regressed. Obi is the same player from last year. Sims, Grimes and McBride well we don’t know what they are. Grimes could be Landry Fields for all we know, Sims looks to be serviceable backup C. And McBride should have had playing time from the start.
I don’t know where this team is going but this year sucked ass. I hate to say this but even with a mid round draft pick will Thib even use him properly? I didn’t see enough development to think next year we are going to win many games next year.

Id say the young players have a ways to go to become top 5 starters. Our team did not regress accept Randle--we lost our PG combo and Noel. It was just too much for one team to lose. That being said it will also be hard relying on Rose and Noel going forward. I think Randle has to come back next year with renewed spirit and we need a plan of efficiency with him. We really need a leader at PG to help tie in things.
Landry was the Landriest for a min though.
Sims is dope, but that's all rawness, not on the coach. Sims needs to be practicing more defense, shot blocking and 3s.
Sims really improved.
IQ lost the non basketball moves and had to learn playmaking to stay on the court. He regressed, then improved in other ways.
Does it matter why Grimes is in the rotation? He is and stayed.
OBI is not improving ENOUGH. I agree.
Deuce. He plays some. Thats pretty important for 3rd stringer.
I think Mitch is a better player. Offensive boards, not fouling as much. Yes, he is better. Is that on coach?
Thibs is not coming back to prove "Us Wrong". What is that anyway?
I don't know what next season brings or what kind of roster we have. To say he only lasts 25 games is comedy. "the narrative" perhaps.
Nothing we can do to show you otherwise. its your prerogative.
This one of those "tell us you haven't watched the Knicks very closely at all this year without actually saying it" threads?
I mean, I get it if you are frustrated with the loses and over-reliance on vets but to take it out on the development of some of the young guys is just waaaayyyyy off.
Taj sure has progressed. Or did he regress? It's not even remotely reasonable to think that he took development time away from our lottery pick Obi, oh no no. We are not gonna talk about that. Burks tho has definitely progressed, I am freaking extatic for him! From journeyman bench player he got to start as a primary ball handler/playmaker moneyshaker!!! Yeah baby! Did it result in slower development from McBride/Grimes? How dare anyone question the coach and all the rest if those professional backetball people!!!
Kids looked pretty good tonight, eh?
I think we're still seeing depression.
RJ and Mitch look as solid as ever. Deuce can play D but Thibs hates him. I love Cam’s potential on both ends but again Thibs never gave him enough playing time before the injury. Sims looks solid. Grimes is a better Damyean Dotson
Obi’s shot has fallen off a cliff
