And part of the reason Kemba failed miserably this year

The knicks are finally getting their act together, not surprising is it started when thibs' hand was guided into playing the young knicks. I like what i see now. I dont mind the wins specially since the young guns are contributing to the wins.i really hope the FO resigns Mitch, find a way to trade Noel, walker and Fournier. Burks might be a good veteran to keep, incase of emergency he can step up. I hope they can also unload DRose and maybe just go after Rubio if Bronson will be expensive to get. IQ is coming out of his PG shell and Deuce can develop further behind him. I wouldn't mind if we can trade Randle so OBi can show what else he can do. Nice to see the youth play

I was at the game. His body language is horrible. When he gets taken out he goes straight to the end of the bench. Doesn't touch hands with Obi when he comes in. In the 3rd quarter after he was taken out, he left the bench and was out for a long time. Came back and he looked like he was sulking. Seriously, what a child.
NYKBocker @ 3/28/2022 11:53 PM
My take away from the game

RJ is a fucking man. Dude gets to the paint with force and takes a lot of contact that is not called. His hips are awesome. The way he turns the corner to get to the cup is ridiculous. His defense is very good not great but then again who really stops DeRozan.

Mitch is a force. Alters a lot of shots. He is a great rebounder both offensive and defensive. He is a keeper.

Burks is a very good instinctive player. I think he has low bball IQ but I like the way he plays. Underrated defender.

IQ is going to be a problem for other teams. He is learning to setup his teammates. A little surprised that he missed a couple of free throws.

Duece is a very good defender that takes shots when is there. Doesn't force anything.

Obi is fun to watch. Very charismatic. People say Amar'e 2.0 ... I see it a little but he kinda reminds me of Larry Nance. He kinda floats. His defense is also not bad anymore.

Randle is horrible. Horrible teammate. Horrible defender. Shot is suspect at best. He doesn't want to be here. He slows everything down. Hee gets the rebound and fucking walks it down. Randle and Burks are running waiting for the pass ahead that never comes.

Man I’m watching the replay right now and I’m astounded at how RJ is improving as a finisher. It’s clear that Thibs is running more sets for RJ to get going downhill coming off the curl and it’s working.

This guy is forever speaking the truth. People try to do the same here. It is an easy way to push a narrative to make it so they have no way of being wrong. We ask for kids to get a shot and Thibs is so stubborn he has to be forced by COVID or injury after a couple months so you say the kids were not ready before(with no proof) and they magically are ready now that injury forced his hand. We must also give Thibs credit for how stubborn he was for their development since they showed they could play the first time they got a real chance at more than sporadic garbage time. I don't know if this is sustainable but even Obi is shooting better from 3 with more consistent minutes.

The one situation I will give Thibs credit for his development is IQ. He stuck with him through his terrible shooting while while he spend the season learning how to play PG. The season was lost but at least IQ looks like he is finally figuring it out and Thibs definitely needs credit for that.

Clean @ 3/29/2022 6:42 AM

All it took was a few games of good playing time and now Obi is full of confidence.

Maybe is his upset with his injury and the way he is playing?
Or in part? He don’t look good.

Never relent! No proof either way. Just enjoy the ride man. I see our rooks and yoot improved over the season. How it happens is subjective is what your saying.

As for Randle, I don’t want him gone, I want him happy, productive, and kicking ass!! Thibs believes in him. I wish we knew the cause of his decline this year and is it physical or in his head? Everything ok at home?

RJ growth has been the highlight of this season! What a pleasure he is. Kudos to him, and the whole coaching staff for the job they are doing with him! He won’t be 22 until august!

Season two. All it took was him getting his shit together and contributing. He is a 23 year old professional athlete. You treat this like a father upset his kid is not playing enough. team is winning and he is plaing well. He needs to play well enough to stay on the court and then get the shots. Then he can take more. Hit them and have confidence. He looked bad at times this season and the team lost games. Not just on him. On randle, on Thibs, on IQ, Injury, etc.

SergioNYK @ 3/29/2022 10:32 AM
I told you all we would win some games down the stretch. We always do that. We'll play like shit the first 70 games and start scouting the top 5 prospects in the draft only to have this team finish the season like 12-2 and end up with the 10th pick.

Oh well, at least the young guys are finishing strong. RJ continues to establish himself as the Alpha over Randle, who was awful again. Loved how RJ is trying to become a closer too. He's not there yet but you see progress. He's going to be scary good! And Mitch finally outplayed Vuch! Obi played well too, that three point shot is finally coming along!

Why the hell did Randle even play? He clearly has no interest in playing that game. And shame on Thibs for bringing him back in 4th after Obi played so well! This Randle experience needs to end. I'm just done. He's mentally exhausting to watch and becoming impossible to root for!

6 more to go.

HoustonSprewell84 @ 3/29/2022 10:41 AM
That was the best game I’ve ever seen Obi play.

I was down on him after that brutal stretch, last two games are basically the blue print how he should play in a half court offense.

jrodmc @ 3/29/2022 10:55 AM
Imagine supporting a guy who grabs 13 boards while the rest of his game is shit, says Thibs.

Imagine supporting a player who's game has dropped off a cliff from last season, yet still leads the team in assists. Gee, where the fuck have I heard all this before?
Oh yeah, from the same azzholes who were busy making a UK career pissing all over Melo.

How do your quads feel while you're pissing on your team's best player?

wow. doubling-down on belligerent love for players who sulk when everything's not going their way? speaking of pissing, why weren't you doing a better job of guarding your cornflakes this morning?

Alec "I'm not a PG" Burks 27/6/3 with zero TOs in 42 minutes and a team high +10

Fuck the draft. I am enjoying these wins.

We're not an old team devoid of a future. I'm thrilled to see that the young talent is starting to shine through. Frankly I don't have any less optimism in the #10 pick than I do the #6. Very rarely do things break our way in the lottery, but who knows, maybe we'll be the team that jumps from the back end of the lottery to #1 and have other teams crying about it being rigged.

RJ's transformation has been awesome. He's figured it out. We've taken the next step from a hot 6 or 7 game stretch and thinking about "what could be". His consistency has been the most impressive part since the New Year, especially when the 3 ain't falling. That's not his game. Bully ball is his game and he's excelling.

IQ has been great too. I'd been adamant about keeping him at SG, said that he was over thinking on offense and it's been messing with his shot. *click* Light goes on and he's looking pretty good at PG now...he's not forcing sets, second guessing when to take a shot. Game looking easier to him, and go figure, shots start falling in the process. Even when he was struggling shooting, his D has been steady (and the rebounding!!!). Glad to be wrong!!!

Add in Mitch (pay the man!) and a steady year 1 from Grimes, and we've got 3.5 pieces I think we can safely call a core. I still like our prospects with Obi/Deuce/Sims/Cam. Hoping at least 2 out of that group pan out as hoped.

As an aside - nice to see Alec getting back on track. We've had more than a few games where he's been our best player. Fun to watch him when he's rolling. I hope that clutch gene can be passed on. I still see his future as mid-season trade fodder, especially as an expiring next year, but let's pump that value either way!

Pure conjecture but I think something has changed in the locker room. Last game against Det, Randle was standing under the basket waiting for the ball to drop for the rebound soo he could walk it up and play PG. Burks comes out of nowhere, snatches the ball from Randle who had not completely secured it yet and ran up the court with it. I am no lip reader but I swear Burks said ‘ f@ck that a&&hole to IQ when he got across half court. I think Burks has taken the leadership role from Randle and IQ is also stepping up as a leader. Just my dos centavos, but something has changed.
