Pick 9--We Assume that Murray, Mathurin, Sharpe, and Duren will not be available.
1st Choice: Dyson Daniels--Handle needs to tighten and needs to improve but his playmaking and defense is so good that he's worth taking a flyer on. We are talking about a near 6'8 PG who can defend 1-4.

2nd Choice: Johnny Davis--Can't pass him up. I think he profiles out to be another Josh Hart but with higher scoring chops. A worse shooting/better defensive and passing arron afflalo is another comp I had for him. Ship off Cam Reddish and give this guy some minutes.

3rd Choice: Ochai Abaji--More athletic Reggie Bullock. Not sure if his defense will reach his level but nuff said. So easy to see him making it.

4th Choice: Trade Down for Wiliams. Long term replacement for Noel

5th Choice: Jeremy Sochan--Bootleg version of Scottie Barnes.

tbh, this draft kinda sucks for us but mebbe we find some value.

Ship off Cam Reddish and give this guy some minutes.

Why are we trading Reddish for a pick that we don't know if it will pan out? Why not take the same chance on Cam Reddish????

I believe Reddish has All-Star potential if healthy.
EwingsGlass @ 4/3/2022 5:50 PM
Round 1 - 1st choice Tari Eason. I don’t think this is a statement against Reddish or anyone else. He brings a specific kind of length and athleticism I like. Reddish is a reclamation project that I think will earn out. I don’t see why both can’t be productive members of a growing Knicks team.

Round 1 backup - Dyson Daniels. I agree on this but I prefer Eason. It a trade with Portland can land one of their firsts, I’d take both. None of this means I don’t have people ranked above either Eason or Daniels, just think one or both of these guys would be helpful to us.

Round 2 - Haven’t gotten this far in my looks at prospects, but I am just hoping to find another 3pt specialist here.

Reddish could pan out but I frankly am not high on him.

For me our first round pick should be Mark Williams, or Blake Wesley.

Both fit a need. I’m envisioning is picking 10-12. Those would be my guys.

Eason is still my guy if he is on the board, but this guy makes me think. Understand it’s GLeague, but I see a guy who can lob the ball to Obi. Still young at 19. I love his highlights have a good number of blocks. He has good fundamental timing on his defense.

thing is the fact that its the g league makes it more impressive. The level of competition here is definitely higher than NCAA which gives me more confidence in him panning out. If becomes a more consistent shooter like Lonzo did then we have a serious gem on our hands.

I’m going with Kansas seniors for my picks - Ochai Agbaji with our lottery pick, assuming we’re in the 10-12 range. And then David McCormack as my second rounder.

I’m not getting the PG I need, but Agbaji came up big and projects to be, I think, the kind of 3 & d wing teams need.

Knixkik @ 4/5/2022 8:03 AM
I don’t love what’s there in the 11-12 range but I would ultimately target a wing because good wings are the most valuable commodity in the league. Agbaji, Branham or Mathurin make the most sense as guys who are proven at the college level and have translatable skills on both ends. In addition to Grimes and Reddish, it gives us another crack at a future wing starter alongside Barrett. Daniels is a possibility too, I just don’t know what he is in the league yet and don’t have a good feel for him.

The second round is hard to predict, and I always value a first round prospect that slides for no apparent reason, like McBride did last year. But without knowing that, I’m going with Tshiebwe from Kentucky or Bacot from UNC. Reason is there’s such a small chance of a second round player becoming a good pro, that I want a proven guy with easily translatable skills. Both of them bring rebounding and hustle to the table and fit as a low maintenance, 2-way level player like Sims has become. Depth in the front court is always important. Guys like this almost always fall out of the first round for what they aren’t, but should get drafted in the second round for what they are. Either one could be a good backup big down the line.

3 last 12th picks: SA Joshua Primo, Sac Tyrese Haliburton and Charlotte PJ Washington

Agbaji definitely looks like a Thibs type player.

Yes and no. The lack of defense and structure in the G-League makes a lot of these games glorified pick up games. There are nuances in the college game that you can't observe in player at the G-League level. That said, I'm a Dyson fan too and wouldn't be too upset if they nabbed. Great motor, team player and has good playmaking potential as a wing. Also, it looks like his shooting stroke is getting cleaned up.

I want to see what the player is going to look like at 23, not 19.

RJ Barret vs Kevin Knox - both young - great guys - one was picked 3 and made it - the other just never got there, and in three additional years at a college team, you probably would have figured Knox didn't have a future in the NBA.

First and foremost, if Shaedon Sharpe is on the board when we pick, you grab him. If he is gone by the time we pick, then Eason would be a solid pick. He would give us a much-needed athlete and size on the wing. He is a really good defender, and he actually draws a lot of fouls which speaks to his aggression on the offensive end. Eason and Obi running the lanes on the fastbreak would be fun to watch.

Sharpe is a weird one to figure out in terms of draft position. One killer workout could boost him easily in the top 5, while a bad workout could kick him down. Honestly, I'm not going to count on him being available, though I'm secretly hoping he is.

I have to disagree. Unlike most games the opponents know the scouts are there to watch the ignite team and they play harder on both sides in order to impress them. Same reason why the ignite team has so many losses. Guys are trying to look good playing against them is the norm.

True. But that gives me more of a sense of how these guys move and react against NBA level athletes. The games are still somewhat disorganized and chaotic. It was good to see a guy like Jalen Green slow it down and maximize his athleticism last year. But I still wasn't able to get a good feel for vision and IQ. Most of the time the play just devolved into iso and fast breaks.

I want Kennedy Chandler
BRIGGS @ 4/7/2022 8:04 AM
I’m changing my second rd pick

Love Tari Eason at 10-12. Reminds me of jaylen brown. Will be best two way player on board at 11
New 2 Nd rounder. Under rated. Kofi cockburn. He’s a guy who WILL score in the nba. He stops offensive lulls there is no other player like him and instead of these cute picks. We really could use brick and mortar

So I’m done. Looked at everyone
Tgis tears two picks
Are
Eason and cockburn
Hoping Alondes Williams falls through draft for ufda
