Miami and Phoenix have them— they seem to almost be the differentiator. The wing players from both teams get theirs but Miami and Phoenix get huge net from the 5

I have a suggestion for your next post:

Title: "Good basketball players"
Body: "Been watching playoffs... it seems most of these teams have them"

Miami and Phoenix are pretty loaded teams.... and their centers get points. Scoring is nice from any position, but defending the paint comes first. You don't see successful teams that cant defend the paint.

Really what you are talking about is 2-way guys. Drafting them has been the strength of this FO. IQ/Obi/Grimes/McBride/Simms all play both ends. Its only been a couple years but hopefully after a few more drafts with this FO we end up with our version of Bam (drafted in teens), Lowry (drafted in 20s), etc..

Do you remember Bam's first 2 years? Most dont... that's what player development looks like. Quickly has a few bad weeks you wanted him dumped. He ended the year on triple doubles. You gotta be patient

More “it’s ok if we let Mitch go for nothing” rationale

With Robinson’s contract which will be a lot to carry for a put back and dunk center who plays defense. Wouldn’t it be wise for the Knicks to draft Mark Williams from Duke. He is fast defensive and his offense will most likely be better than Robinson’s.

man - i’m looking at this thread - briggs, fish, vmart - we’ve been doing this here for 20 years! alot of memories, a lot of battles, a lot of laughs. thanks as always martin. remember the time briggs bought a huge number of us tickets to a game. we all gathered at a bar waiting to finally meet him - the tickets are there waiting for us but briggs himself doesn’t show!

What happened to league MVP Jokic? What happened to KT? What happened to Embid? Those are all centers who can are maybe all better scorers than any Cs left playing.

Centers that can score are good. But only on teams with above average wing play. Above average wing play seems to have trumped C play so far in the playoffs

Yep, good players, good coaching, good organization - that’s what you want.
