Knicks Rumors: 'Multiple' 1sts Offered for Kings' No. 4 Draft Pick; Jaden Ivey Linked

People in touch with Sacramento say that in the club's conversations with New York, the Knicks have talked about

offering multiple first-round picks in a package for the No. 4 pick," Begley reported Tuesday. "I don't know which players were offered, but it wasn't enough to lock a deal in."

Still don't see how that beats this.

Why does Atlanta want the #4 pick so much? They do not need Ivey since they have Trae.

Give or take, I think they may think that having to unstoppable guys at the guard spots may be worthwhile when you compliment it with Capella and Onyeka Okongwu at the C/PF positions - in this case Collins becomes expendable.

Trae is hard to plan against. Having 2 of those types of guys is dboubley so.

i still don't think I'd be excited for Collins with his current contract.

i can see Atlanta thinking this will free up D.Hunter more at the 4 (and if he stays healthy he will contribute mightily to winning; whereas J.Collins spends most of his time complaining he doesn't get enough shots)

I live in Atlanta and from what I am hearing, the Hawks seemingly have little to no interest in the draft, instead are looking for a legit number 2 to play alongside Trae. They seem to prefer moving Collins in a multiple player trade for Ayton. Then, move Capella, for more help. If the Ayton deal falls apart, they could pivot and move Collins for a pick but Nate prefers vets that can help him win now.

Im really excited with a potential trade up for Ivey for the knicks but im trying my best to temper my expectations, specially looking at how the current FO operates never overpaying, backing down vs competition(rightfully so, im just hoping they take a break from this MO to secure Ivey). There are several teams vying to move up, i just want the knicks to win out on this.

There is a chance Mitch will remain a knick, if they can somehow get Ivey to further boost the excitement level in the garden. Maybe a young starting lineup that can grow together (Mitch, Obi, RJ, iQ, Jaden) with this line up finally elevate the knicks to the heights of the Hawks, Raptors and Grizzlies as a you g up and coming team?

this makes more sense to me. Capella helps so much on D, but Ayton is another dimension.

i just don't know how they move Collins at 5 years 125,000,000! he's good but not that good IMO

Same thing I said, posted.
The Hawks can bust up the NBA East dealing Collins for the Ivey Pick. Put Ivey and Trae in as Young NBA Backcourt is making of
probably another Steph Curry & Klay Thompson.

*EGAD's Shooooot ! if that happens,

It's a hefty contract for a PF, and he still has more value than you know who...

Im trying hard not to get emotionally invested by the knicks desire to trade up for Ivey. I heard this song and dance one, two many times. Knicks want to sign Hayward(they were hesitant to make the leap and rightfully so) the knicks want to sign Kyrie and KD free agency period started and the FO never touched base with them to try to sway them. We all know the price to get to the 4th is very very high, will the front office finally make that big move after more than 2 years in charge? If they get to draft Ivey, maybe as insurance the knicks can sign rubio for cheap while Ivey learns how to be an NBA point guard.

With all the PGs the knicks are linked to this offseason from Brunson to Brogdon to D'Lo and Kyrie; I won't be surprised if come start of next season the starting PG of the knicks will be DRose or Burks. This FO has exercises extreme patience and level headedness to the point of paralysis. I hope they do all the research and if they like what they find out, just go get that point guard, please!

Use Trae as a shooting guard

We should be trading back and drafting Kennedy Chandler. Keep the assets. I want Ivey but keeping our assets and drafting Chandler is the better option

HofstraBBall @ 6/23/2022 8:26 PM
Kings keeping pick. Picking Murray
NYKMentality @ 6/23/2022 8:41 PM
Welp.

There goes our unrealistic dreams of drafting Ivey.

MS @ 6/23/2022 9:04 PM
We suck.

Pistons about to jump us and have cap room to grab Levine, Ayton or Bridges.

I can’t believe these guys used our cap space on marginal role players, it’s amazing how incompetent this team is year after year

Philc1 @ 6/23/2022 10:12 PM
And if we end up signing Brunson or Tyus Jones?

It's Okay- it's better than trading for Brogdon at $22mil per, but it's not as good as trading for Ivey. Plus I suppose you still have 4 further additional (these 3 new ones plus the Mavs) 1st's in addition to our own for future trades
