Deuce? He no doubt should be doing this at SL as he was in the Gleague. I dont’ see him in the rotation but he is fulfilling the timeline of progress as was hoped. Interview with one of his college coaches last year thought he’d be sitting but learnng for a while. Thats cool. No rush.
And yet tomorrow he could be traded. Are we over rating him? Fans can get excited. Not a bad thing!

I'm a little surprised by this, but his moves and drives to the basket are a little reminiscent of Blake Griffin. This guy has some real post moves - he feels and reacts to contact. I don't think their opponents so far have been prepared for his physicality.

Is Sims a victim of the era he arrived? 15 years ago would he have been an all-star in the making with or without a jump shot?

Does this sound right to you or is there a different reason the Knicks kiddie corps is beating up on other teams???

Summer League Individual Stats by ranking of the top 300 players https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/summer...

3rd D'Shawn Schwartz
24th Quinten Grimes
36th Micah Potter
41st Miles McBride
48th Da'Quan Jeffries
80th Jericho Sims
81st Ferron Hunt
170th Jehvon Blair
197th Jean Montaro
241st Amar Simms
289th Trevor Keels
295th Garrison Brooks

By the way the top players in the Summer League thus far are:

1st Pat Spencer (Was)
2nd Nate Hinton (Ind)
3rd D'Shawn Schwartz (NYK)
4th Stanley Omude (Det)
5th Moses Moody (GSW)

Is it because they are playing selfless team ball and good defense or do stats mean absolutely nothing???

Small sample sizes can create havoc to advanced stats. I mean D'Shawn Schwartz plays less than 5 minutes a games. Unfortunately you can't filter to show players who play at least 15 mins a game. I wouldn't read much into it.

The first game was much worse as the Knicks were handily beating the Warriors. The talking heads praised every nuance of the Warriors as if the Knicks weren't even there and handing the Warriors their ass on a plate. Yesterday they were a little better when playing the Bulls and they actually noticed Sims and acted as if he was actually a ball player for a change. Very frustrating.

Knicks are the Rodney Dangerfield of the NBA!

You’re right, their noses were firmly up the Warriors’ butt in that first game. And they did shout out Sims yesterday. I get it - when we win we’ll get the respect. But the ESPN mugs et al will still be bandwagon phonies.

Sims hitting his EYE on the rim during a pre-draft workout:

Another angle:

Almost looks like he's dunking on a 9.5' rim.

That Klutch pro day shooting was ugly delivery. That has to have improved to get the contract.
Good for him. But lets be real, some guys will come up, some will not stick.
Blake Griff had the power and a mean inside game. Then came the outside game and the rest was history.
Blake did not play his rookie year at age 20.
His rookie year came a year later and as 21 year old was an ALLSTAR and remained as one for 6 more times.
Simms will be 24 in october. The hops im sure cativated both the FO and fans. Kid is fun to watch!

McBride taking over the game early.

Can't believe I'm going to stay awake until 1:00 with work @ 6 AM tomorrow.

But I couldn't miss out on an opportunity to watch these kids improve to 3-0 here in Summer League.

🏆I want to see these kids win the Summer League Championship pretty bad 🏆

And head into 2022-2023 with A+ confidence.

🚨11-0 as I'm typing!🚨

Man! I love our young core. Thibs did a hell of a job developing them.
Clean @ 7/11/2022 11:17 PM
Sims has become a demon on defense.
EwingsGlass @ 7/11/2022 11:19 PM
Keels looks terrible.
Clean @ 7/11/2022 11:20 PM
Keels has looked dreadful on offense.
Clean @ 7/11/2022 11:21 PM
How did they miss that blatant carry?
Clean @ 7/11/2022 11:22 PM
We seeing zones in the summer league. Getting the young players used to it for the regular season.
Clean @ 7/11/2022 11:27 PM
Montero playing well again.

Id give Hunt a real roster spot and give Montero a 2 way contract.

Clean @ 7/11/2022 11:29 PM
Damn, I love this teams defense.
Clean @ 7/11/2022 11:36 PM
Our offense has slowed down a lot since they went to zone. Most of it has come from our defense.
Clean @ 7/11/2022 11:38 PM
Keels is giving me nothing to work with at all. He looking like Knox on offense.
