Knicks · Knicks should take Jalen Williams and not mess around They had same chance with Halliburton (page 2)

If Davis and Daniels aren't on the board give me this guy.

The whole gig about finding a true pass shoot dribble playmaker wouod be to integrate and help exsisting players like r j Barrett become better. I’m 100% against trading Barrett. He’s a Knick for the duration.

We are not gonna find a decent pass-first play maker PG having Ball-Stoppers Melo/Randle or Hardaway Jr./Barrett om the team receiving above 24 minute per game. Recall .. Lin Sanity won consecutive Knicks games having a defensive lineup on the court that kept the ball-movement going for 48 min a game.

You take a player like Jalen Williams because he has skills as a guard he also has the height to play SF. This makes the team better at ball movement and at the same time it allows players like Quickly to play off ball. RJB is the has good passing ability as does Randle. Teams that emphasize ball movement tend to better and actually play basketball. Give the Mavs as an example they added Spencer Dinwiddie and all of a sudden the played basketball at a much higher level. Three PG types works.

We already have a catch and shoot SG prospect in Grimes we have our wing position set with Barrett----we are NOT set at PG---this guy is a NO BRAINER pick at 11 No way he lasts to 15 --if we leverage 11 we get a really good PLAY now guy with his prospects. I really dont want to pick a center 11 and there is no other PG until Kennedy Chadler who is good but too small for such a high pick. Williams is a no brainer where we pick. if gone Branhan(can shoot!!!!!!!) or eason but dont DRAFT a replicate position role player!!!
Williams is a really good prospect, but he is not a pg. The difference between Williams and Jrue is on the defensive end. Jrue is an all-NBA level defender while defense is Williams's weakness, especially defending smaller guards which is another reason why his best position is that of a secondary ball-handler on the wing.
With that said, on the offensive end, he can score at all three levels and plays at his own speed. He is efficient and seems to really understand how to play the game. We can certainly use more high IQ guys in this roster. If that's who we want, he will be available in the late teens and can be had if we trade back.
He’s got dribble pass shot down as much as anyone being drafted. At 6-6 with extremely long arms he’s got the making of a defensive nightmare w diversity to guard multiple positions. He owns his own pace which takes years to develop. At 6-6 210 he can blanket 1 guards( most of them) he was easily the best player who played at the combine and he showed his stuff at all 3 level. I read than Jaden Ivey had 27 dunks this year— well Williams has 25. In the first 15 players he’s the best passer. To me he’s a hybrid pg with nba caliber 3 point range. He would fit in well here— we need another conjoining playmaker who can slot 1-2-3. Play with all the guys. He’s a no brainer for where we pick(11) we’re not getting Johnny Davis at 11 we’re not getting guys we are going to see go above us. He’s the Halliburton we missed and have another chance at
Briggs,
You don't have to convince me. I think Jalen Williams has lotto talent. Love that he can score at all three levels and plays at his own pace. My only push back was on the Jrue Holiday comparison mainly because Jrue is an all NBA defensive player. Williams is more of a secondary ball handler. With that said, I wouldn't mind taking him if we stay put, but I am leaning towards Branham right now. Branham is a lights-out mid-range shooter and excels in the pick n roll game....

His mind. People said he was better than Obi, because he is, but no one said he is better than Kobe.

I get Kobe and Obi confused regularly too. And Tobi.

Why though unless you want to crash tonight when we don't draft him. There are NO rumors of us drafting him, being interested in him or indications we're taking him so why fixate on a player we are definitely not going to take, unless you enjoy setting yourself up to have a tantrum? (genuine question as well as dig!)
WE ARE NOT TAKING JALEN WILLIAMS! We just aren't! Spare yourself the pain!

Jees I know you’re not Leon rose—- maybe mike breen? Stop being a runny nosed stooge to everyone u talk to. How do u know we aren’t taking Williams? It’s so stupid. I’m sure there are 3-4 people here who likely know what we are doing and u r not one of them. Let the process happen and enough w the obnoxious attitude. Read some of your own posts— you’re obnoxious for no reason. If that makes u happy— fine by me🥸

What rumors were there of us moving around and picking Grimes, Rokas, and McBride last year?
It seems a lot of “writers” or whatever you call them are predicting we pick AJ Griffin. Would I be more excited about him, Sochan, Davis, TyTy, Eason…etc.? Even Ivey who we aren’t getting is no sure thing. So is Jalen Williams really an outlier or reach in that conversation or possibly say the Donovan Mitchell of this draft? I don’t know, but then again I’m not an expert like some here.

Theres no boo bird picks this year. No Steven A freakout players. But for the Knicks there is duplicate position picks where the pick is simply low value to the team right now. Jalen Williams--I guarantee this will be seen as the savvy upside pick. This will generate nice buzz in the media and fans. Everyone loves a story hes easy to root for and in terms of pure basketball ability hes the smartest pick at 11. Its a win and the Knicks get a player who we can match with Barrett IQ Grimes Obi Robinson a long athletic playmaker who can fit right in.

First got to clear 25mil per. Your also taking on three roster spots. We keeping 11? 42? Mitch walking? Lots to do first. But anything is possible. Boston should figure out a way to get Him back. They needed one more shooter.
I was thinking expiring contracts (or team options) like Kemba, Noel, Burks would get it done.
Hayward 13 Williams 15 Eason
for
11 Walker Noel Burks
Saves them a bit of money without waiving our MLE or Bi-Annual.
Interesting. Concerned about Hayward being owed over $61M? We would be giving up two favorite Thibs pieces just so we could have two possible role players. Hoping we can trade down without taken on that much salary.

I don't know if it's Williams or bust for me but, yes, he is on the list of guys I am interested in
I will say if you're advocating though to draft a certain guy regardless of consensus position, I will say we need a fucking PG and I would think drafting TyTy Washington, Blake Wesley, Dalen Terry, or Kennedy Chandler would be our fucking priority if we can't land Jaden Ivey

and Obi is on one that won 37 games? Or "Stupid Randle and his contract".
OK, lets let that go. Tell us where the Kobe thing fits in. Maybe use more words as the scramble thing you do migth make sense in your mind but we can't decrypt the brilliance so humor us please. Pehraps there is sarcasm as your annoyed Haliburton gets so much cred and has not done anything, like folk talk him up like he "Kobe"? Is that what your trying to say?
