https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/celtics...One intriguing target is New York Knicks guard Alec Burks. The Celtics reportedly are among several teams with "a degree of interest" in acquiring Burks via trade, per SNY's Ian Begley.
Not surprised. Dude is playing above contract, and can do a lot of things to help a team win. I'm a big fan of Burks, but he is the easiest to move. For continuity sakes I'd prefer to keep him, but if he wants a new home and we can get a lottery protected 1st for him in 2024 I'd do it.
As a lot of teams should. 2-way wings that can shoot and handle the ball don’t grow on trees.

Man we really need to hold onto this guy and move Fournier.

You think I don't want that? I've ran everything in trade machine and look at the reports but its not looking to promising for us to move him unless we include a protected 1st which is horrible buisness.
Maybe Detroit flames out in FA and they take a look at Fournier or Portland dosen't have any options so they use the exception on him. I think you trade Noel to LAC for cap space to sign Brunson. Then continue to evaluate our options between Burks and Fournier. I think Burks ends up having to go but this may also be the highest his value willl be.
Good SG with an expiring contract. Hopefully Rose can dump him and Noel so we can go after both Ayton and Brunson

We’d still have RJ, Grimes, Fournier, Cam and IQ’s best position is SG
Evan is untradeable without adding picks or as part of a larger deal. We should be able to get a late first round pick for Burks. We should make that move and get the draft asset. Grimes is our longterm starter at the position. Evan is holding the spot until then.
Burks is the last guy I want to trade to a team above us in the standings.

And you could possibly think with the way he plays against them, the Celts would want Fournier back.

Yeah, no looking back. New frontier and whatnot. I'll always remember 4th quarter Jordan impersonations, but it's time to let go!
He’s a pretty perfect guy to have off the bench scoring.

Burks is the one guy we are trading I’m concerned about not getting him out of the conference
Kemba, Noel are whatever
