I understand the extenuating circumstances around some teams, but if Scoot, Miller, the Thompson twins etc were elite prospects, the picks wouldn’t be so heavily available. Teams don’t trade picks they think will land franchise guys. Remember when this draft was supposed to have 6-7 star level protects? Now they are saying the #3 pick plus simons can’t land Bridges or Anunoby, neither of whom project as star level players themselves.

Agree on the perceived value of this draft —— outside of top 3-5 this draft looks week as hell to me.

Admittedly —- have only watched a few college games and a bunch of highlights for mock of mocked guys.

One kid that jumped out at me as potential sneaky pick was the lefty pg from Kobe Bufkin

And I wouldn't pencil in Wembanyama as the second coming just yet. That body is a liability and a huge risk. Plus he is now in the shadow of Duncan and chasing five rings. And Pop won't be around forever.

Whose better Wemby or Chet ?

Miller makes more sense for Charlotte in terms of team need. But this talk reminds me of the Jabari)Bancheri chatter last year. Scoot's upside is so much higher IMHO and you can't pass. And it's not like Melo and Scoot couldn't play together. Heck, are we even sure Charlotte is sold on Melo as their PG of the future?

Remember when Portland passed on MJ because they had Clyde. ANy of that going on now?

about miller over scoot? I'm not really sold on scoot as a "generational talent" - he's a 6'2" PG. not sure why there is so much hype here. I'd take either of the twins as they have size, over scoot.

There will likely also be other players drafted later that end up being significantly better.

I'd give up a lot for a chance at Cam.

I didn't realize the Pacers have three second rounders as well as three first rounders this draft. No way they are drafting 6 players. Opportunity is there for the Knicks to get BPA for a late first and I don't think it will involve a player but a future conditional pick like Detroit's or Washington's. If Obi is added to the trade but then we have to take a contract like Duarte, to make the money work. I liked Duarte but we have Hart and IQ and Grimes so he won't play, but he can still be a future trade piece. I think it's simpler to exchange a first rounder for a future protected first, much like when we traded a first rounder to Charlotte years ago.

Jaime reminds me a bit of Jared Dudley. I think he can play in the league but he's very system dependent.

Listened to the last NBA Big Board podcast. They mentioned that Jett Howard may be closer to 6'5.5" than his listed 6'8".That really impacts his evaluation if that's the case.

Loved this for both the player review as well as the podcasters themselves.

Smart people saying some smart things.

Since we don’t have enough lefties I’m intrigued by Kobe Bufkin
