You forgot Sims on your list. When he took off full court off the rebound this summer I thought I was seeing the next coming of Giannis. Really eye opening

Small forward goes to RJ, Mitch is our starting center. Randle is the biggest question mark moving forward.
This reminds me of a posting and toasting poll from 22 months ago that asked: Who do you think can be an All Star for the next season?
RJ Barrett
Mitchell Robinson
Immanuel Quickly

I've never been able to take that site seriously since and actually started posting here in frustration. I still think Randle is the best guy on the roster.

What is he best for? Apparently not the playoffs. Likely not the best for the future if the team either.

Going forward the cornserstone is RJ Barrett. All star? He needs some love from fans to get the votes. Randle needs good PR as well after he shushed the crowd. But if your asking about who plays to that level its easy to think Randle with Brunson handling the ball can benefit greatly and get easier shots. Same for EF. Randle need not be an allstar for the team to succeed. In fact a more efficient randle is best. More rebounds, offensive rebounds, and more “we here” sweetness. that was born from success. “STFU” was born from frustration of losing and team not performing.
Im not thinking about Randle and the ATL series. No mitch, Norlens banged up, Capella ran free to swarm Jules, Drose was cooked, and Elf was on the shelf. We are deeper now.
That ATL at the back end of that very strainge season was really quite good. Randle surged and now we demonize him for that playoff? That carries to the next season. He was frustrated, team was frustrating! Fact is we did not panic, so something stupid to correct it and we moved forward with Brunson. Kemba and his 2 year 18mm deal was not smart. EF did not elevate the team. Thibs played yoot more and developed them.
That was then.
Ideally with Brunson as starting PG. I wouldnt mind Grimes being the backup PG. Maybe developing into a solid backup like Patty Mills. Before the starting job became available.
Also filling in when Brunson is hurt. I see Quickley more as a backup SG, than PG. Unless that part of his game takes a big step forward. Plays looser when scoring off the bench is his main role.

Did you miss all of last season watching Grimes and IQ? Cause your post suggests you haven't watched either of them.
It's like that far off the mark
Sorry about your cheerios Martin, wasnt me. Watched almost every game. Have to be more precise about what you believe I got wrong.

Grimes is clearly headed down a 3&D path with some passing capabilities. IQ is clearly going down a combo guard path and has made great strides learning PG responsibilities.
IQ was literally the backup PG last year. Grimes was literally the backup SG.

Much to do about IQ and his struggles early with the PG duties and adapting to rules reagarding creating contact on offense to draw fouls.
He worked thru them well thru the season and gained/earned Thibs trust.
Grimes playmaking is what he worked on with mixed results via this past summer league. I know he grows in stature daily on these pages. While his potential is vast, he is no PG with no history as one.
One quality you want to see in a PG, is an ability to get to the rim. Quickley's floater is a legit weapon. So is his 3, when he's on a roll. Grimes is a real threat at the rim. Quickley isnt there yet. Not enough to be considered a threat.
I see Grimes ability to guard quality PGs, his emerging 3pt ability, as a better candidate for backup PG than Quickley. IQ hasnt been shy about modeling his game after Lou Williams. Lou Williams, instant offense, off the bench. Thats how I see Quickley's role. Thats what got everyone's attention.
