The TNT announcer during the Knick game said Ohtani should win MVP. I think he may get another MVP stolen from him. I still don't see how he lost his rookie year. His numbers were clearly better over Altuve

Ohtani puts up good numbers on both postions. Its a compelling case. Top 10 in many catagories on both sides. Its a worthy arguement. Both deserving. To what degree?

It’s not even a close argument. Judge is at the top in all of the important categories and he steals bases and he’s a gold glove calibre fielder. Ohtani being top ten in all categories is not enough and Judge has the WAR. He’s doing all of this as pitchers try to pitch around him. That’s close to a triple crown as pitchers try to pitch around him.
The Yankees would probably be a wild card team or non-playoff team without him.

What is Judge worth in the open market? They still have Stanton’s contract on the books. Funny, he is only 2.5 years older than Judge.
In my mind they both owe each other. Having Stanton behind him and playing on a stacked roster made him immortal. Yes, he also delivered. Stanton still has $150mil left over next 5 years. It drops after 3 years. Its a mutherfucker of a deal. he turned down 7 years, 213 mil. 30mil a year avg. Stanton biggest years (he is heading into them) at 32mil. Money alone, yes Judge is worth it after the season he just had. He made yankees and MLB big money with the record. He put it all together this year which is his third solid season. Stanton is about untradable unless you pay a good amount of his deal. It would make me sick to see him in a redsox uniform and perhaps in that shittly little stadium break his record in that uniform. I can stomach it if he goes the Angels. he is from Cali and its nice to be rich there. Reggie did it but he was HOF bound from his A’s days of winning. He came to Yankees after playing on three Athletics championship teams. He went to HOF with a yankee cap. what is a yankee legacy for a whole career worth? Hope they win a chip this year and solidify that legacy. Does that make it harder to leave? Easier because he did it and leaves on top? Its a new era. How much more money will he command and at the same time will that team be able to surround him with talent to win? Angels have some big salaries already. I don’t envy yanks. Its not just cashman, its Ownership and the tax. A lot to juggle. Need money for pitching.
