These rooks look incredible in preseason, could have been ours
I'd rather have the cap space to have had sign Brunson. Not sure which position they play but I am pretty sure we have either better overall players or better prospects at that position already. In some cases it's both. How about this, we even have players that can possibly be starters in this league and who we cannot find playing time for to develop ( Reddish). Maybe Thibs will be able to find time for Reddish, but i don't think it's likely
This was the one negative and it might cost us in the future.
People don’t realize we had BOTH pick 11-13. We traded 13 to Detroit for the cap space. We traded 11 to oklahoma( they took dieng) we needed a big wing and the three guys taken in those spots. Eason Williams amd dieng have looked great. The guy the Knicks liked who they tried to trade up for slightly Johnny Davis has been on the shtty side to say the least. We made the 11 trade to help us grab draft capital prob for Mitchell but it strongly appears as if they walked out of a cost controlled athletic impact player. That may bite us.

Other people realize that we traded the pick in part to sign this guy Jalen Bruson. See this thread called "Brunson is a star player" http://www.ultimateknicks.com/forum/topi...
Some others take it further and realize we also were able to sign Hart with the cap space.
Some also realize that Gobert and Mitchell weren't on the market until July, well after the June 2022 draft.
Some detail oriented people noted that the Knicks, in fact, did not own both the #11 and #13 picks: http://www.ultimateknicks.com/forum/topi...

some realize faster than others

Our roster is packed with young players

I'm pretty sure they're lack of interest in Johnny Davis is one of the reasons they felt comfortable trading the pick. I think Dyson Daniels was their preference if the Ivey talks fell through. I liked Eason, but I'm not losing sleep over him.
Johnny Fucking Davis when you already have Grimes, RJ, Fournier, Quick on the roster already? Lol Nah they weren't trading up for him
As far as I know, hindsight is still 20/20
The Knicks isnt the only team that missed on those guys. In fact every year there will be a handful of players all teams wish they selected. The draft is a crap shoot. That’s why they use lotto balls. It’s a lottery!

Except for, apparently, BRIGGS.

As far as I can see the Knicks acquired pick 13. They did not have to turn around and trade both 11-13 to suffice salary conditions for Brunson. We had a nice high pick with very good players there.I personally think u make a pick there instead of the further flip. My personal opinion. There’s enough information there that tells me the Knicks would NOT have traded pick 11 If Johnny Davis was available. Remember I called the entire draft trade well before it happened using similar source. I could be wrong but I wasn’t on draft night and I don’t think I am about Davis
As far as i can tell the hindsight around here is not 20/20. Time to schedule an eye exam I'd say....

Just because you add "My personal opinion" to a paragraph that amounts to no more than a steaming pile of gibberish does not in fact make it any more close to reality than you think it does just because it's your opinion.
You like Dieng and Jay and whomever else? Go for it and let us know what you are seeing from them in preseason.

Briggs, Johnny Davis wasn't really on the radar. It was Ivey or bounce and open cap space for Brunson.

I think Johnny Davis if he slid to 11 was going to be a knick. He did not so they moved the pick. That’s the scenario I believe is correct.

But they were actively trying to move the pick well before Johnny Davis was picked. Everything points to them not valuing anyone in the late lottery. I think the real choice was Ivey or Brunson.

Well never definitely know. I wasnt on davis I was on either eason or williams
We also didn’t need to give multi year deals to Kemba, Noel and Burks. Most GMs weren’t going to lock in Randle anyway. Our front office very rough offseason last year
Not really a plan in place here. Treading water right now.
Love Brunson he’s going to surprise the entire league. But Duran is a stud and Deng I’m sure will be a nice player.
Problem is we are right where we always seem to be when there is an actual superstar in the draft, 12-15 in the lottery missing out.
