They did not play well 3/4 games—didn’t mesh that great— will take some time. I don’t think hartenstein looked particularly comfortable.

Not very much DRose and too much IQ too. Whole second unit offense is different with Hart, it’ll probably take a few months or motor before it clicks

For the obvious...No Grimes.
Feel it will look a lot better with Grimes back.
Also, Rose was not in for much of the pre season.
The biggest question, for me, is if IQ can get everyone involved.
I don't know what it is but IQ looks to purposely not pass the ball to Cam. I know he hasn't looked good this preseason but I would shoot the ball every time I got it if the team never passed me the ball.

I have seen this a lot on social media. I don't think IQ purposely decides to avoid Cam. I think he is back to having a hard time being a PG and most time he just ends up shooting it himself or just passing the ball aimlessly outside the 3pt line. The thing is even if IQ would have passed Cam the ball he would have turned it over or Bricked an off balanced/contested shot. So I can't say I care too much about that. I mean Cam was even with the starters and he still stunk up the joint. I think both things are true. IQ has been playing really badly as a PG and Cam sucks. The Cam fans who are blaming IQ for how bad Cam has played just can't cope that they been hyping up a trash player for 4 years.
So Thibs plays “the yoots….”
While knowing preseason is preseason and don’t get your hopes up (especially as a Knicks fan), it seems the good news is the first unit has gotten it together with the new PG and things look better as we approach real games. On the other hand the second unit - mostly the younger guys along with a new vet and a PG who hasn’t really played in a while - is in flux and working on it at the behest of the coach. Perhaps the difference between an okay season and a possibly very good one is how they come together and who steps up. I’d offer some patience - you know, that leading quality of Knicks fans.

Right - too much IQ and the damn over dribbling, passing on open catch/shoots and really having tunnel vision for Obi.

The Knicks preseason games had to many shoot-first players in the rotation .. hopefully they get more confidence in each other on the court early in the regular season.
Rose looked comfortable playing the give and go with iHart
Hart looks like he needs to get stronger to b able to rebound and rim protect but when th his passion Ny he looks like Hardenstein
Also, to soon to call him stone hands but he has not been good around the basket. Bad hands and not strong enough to get to his spot.

IQ is a shooting guard. Shooting guards shoot first and pass second. Especially volume shooters like IQ.
With Brunson on the team, IQ no longer has to pretend to be a PG. He can be himself, which is good for this team. Brunson is the starting PG and Rose is the backup PG.
I agree with your comment on Cam. I would shoot everytime as well, especially if I'm a 2 way scorer like Cam. So I understand. But I doubt IQ is purposely doing that. Thats just a weakness of his. Tunnel vision. But for a SG, it's a good weakness to have. We'll see if IQ is still trying to be a combo guard or just play his game (which is what I prefer). Forget the noise like not passing to Cam. Cam still trying to make the team. I'm not sure Cam will be on the roster long.

Also, would you pass to Cam after you've seen him brick shots during his Paul George impersonation routine? Who would you rather have taking the shot at this point? Cam needs to do a better job of moving without the ball and creating easy opportunities like Obi does.
We have a 3rd string PG issue.
Rose will run the 2nd unit fine while he's healthy. He just didn't get a lot of minutes in pre season. But neither Quick or Deuce is a real PG that can penetrate, draw defenders, and then find the open player. They are SGs in PG bodies. Our problem will get exposed when either Brunson or Rose gets hurt. IF Brunson misses a few games, who is going to start? We already know Rose can't handle starter minutes without slowly breaking down. If Rose misses games (and he certainly will), the 2nd unit won't have a real PG. We need to find a real 3rd string PG that can handle starter minutes for a few games if we are desperate.

I believe we had a shooting issue in the preseason games ..
Every Knicks player believe they had the right to shoot the ball when passed to them throughout the preseason games .. I mean NO Ball-Movement in any of the rotation lineups.
And every player in the rotation cant shoot 37% or better from the 3-ball line unless ur playing for a loss.
Brunson average 3 or 4 assist a game during preseason .. hopefully that change to 6 or 8 assist a game in the regular season having a spot shooter Fournier, a slasher Barrett, a bully-ball Randle, and lobs to MitchRob.

This post requires a fact check. Ball movement in the starting lineup was pretty great. See Mitch Robinson points total for proof. The second unit was great when Hart was passing. He was actively looking for guys to move without the ball and when they did he found them. I think IQ was a little stingy on the passing but otherwise I thought the Knicks had pretty good ball movement.

I feel like when you are worrying about the 3rd string PG issues whose player ages are 22 and 23 and have shown flashes but obviously haven't put it all togehter, that's actually a good thing.

Perfectly stated. I love where McBride is. He needs a little work on his offense, but his defense is top tier. I love the idea of McBride working with both Rick Brunson and Johnnie Bryant. 6'1 with a 6'8.75 wingspan, a ton of grit. By comparison, 6'7 Fournier has a 6'7.5 wingspan.
I don't even think we have a 3rd string PG problem. I hope they rest Derrick Rose more throughout the season when the minutes don't matter as much to keep getting McBride some run.

Also, Arch has proven to be a decent a game manager during his stints in Chicago too. Can't ask for much more from a deep bench guy. Most teams in the league aren't necessarily worried about their third string PG. They usually just find someone off the scrap heap in free agency or the buyout market. Or they start taking their tanks more seriously.

Just basically put on "ignore"
