Am I missing something here?.....As far as we know, Udoka made some unwanted comments towards another co-worker and he was basically fired for it.
What else does Ms. Mallory Edens want to happen? Should we "cancel" him now? Burn him at the stake? oh, I know...lets castrate him!
I can't stand people like this.
More in the vein of having a consenstual realationship with a married co-worker which is stupid but not a crime. Reason companies don’t permit it when one party does not want it to end and there are families involved and one party ccan intimidate the other if they did not want it to end.
Rumor, and there were that Ime Slept with the owners wife. Not sure about that one.
I had read somene said he’ll never coach again in the leuage. Three weeks later he lands in BKN?Miss Edens is daughter of one of bucks owners and I believe works for the team.
“I can’t stand people like this”. Is it a women with a voice you object to? This is an educated women. Granted, one with some prvieledge, but thats another world.Personally I think Bringing Udoka back so soon does send a “Basketball first” message which nets are. They are also an entertainment company whose building gets massive tax breaks from taxpayers. We, men don’d fully understand how women feel about these things. And perhaps we have a bias against that. We don’t have to be responsible to but at least respect society norms. That said I don’t now that dude personally and all the details. But, perception is part of the game and if your trying to gain sponsers and fans Nets seem to be doing a bad job. BKN is a bout 20% jewish and I’d say like half Women right? Not all women care about Nets, or the issues the Celtics front office experienced.
Sean Marks built a good organization and I’d say Joe Tsai changed the narrative of where they should go when they persued Durant and Kyrie.
Not at all.....but it seems she is of the opinion that once you do wrong you should be punished forever.
Correct me of I'm wrong here but the Celtics have not released full details of what exactly happened. What we know is that he had improper workplace relationship and there were some unsolicited messages sent but up to this point, those have not been made public.
Udoke broke policy and he was fired. end of story. Unless the female that was involved decides to come forward and speak her truth, we should all be moving on from this.

Coach for the team that went to the finals was so toxic that his team suspended him for the year and you are suggesting there is no there-there so we should all be moving on?
No thanks

Coming from her perspective, I think that being part of the NBA is a privilege and as such is subject to higher standards than what we might think is appropriate in our ordinary course. On top of that, the NBA as an organization has its own obligation to itself (not to Ime Udoka or to you) to make its workplace environments more open and available to women. The "we" she uses could be us "we" as in "we the people" or it could be "we" as in "we owners of NBA franchises". Her "we" and our "we" are not necessarily the same "we".
I think the simplest position is that Boston thought that Udoka's behavior was inappropriate and suspended him. Nets hiring is a statement that they don't specifically care about the acts giving rise to the punishment. Celts could have continued enforcing their punishment, but instead gave consent to the Nets to speak to Udoka, so they didn't feel strongly that the punishment should stand, just that they don't want Udoka in their organization. Udoka's exit is an acceptable outcome.
Only takeaway is that it is ok to have consensual relations with the spouses [and daughters?] of NBA owners so long as you are willing to move cities after. Adds new meaning to "hit it and quit it".

I need proof not speculation so yes, move on.
.....also considering that the Celtics only suspended him for a year and now have given him permission to seek employment else, leads me to believe that this just may just be a matter of fraternization.
But, I don't claim to know everything about this so if you have any important information that I may have missed regarding this situation, please share (I don't mean this in a smart a$$ way).

Still makes you wonder WTF were they thinking with Udoka in the first place.

Udoka worked for the Nets and, other than his recent issues, is well-respected as a coach. I think they thought he was the best candidate but then realized they had enough drama already without adding Udoka to the picture.

But you would think someone in the FO would have seen how problematic that move would have been from the get go. At the very least, give Vaughn the shot as interim and look into Udoka after a year has passed. Just seemed tone deaf.

Yes, agreed. Someone should have realized it was a bad idea even before it got out.
Like we should have allowed Fitzdale to finish the 2020 season. Miller won too many games!

Any ownership of completely trashing the Knicks when KD and Kyrie signed with the cool Nets. I distinctly remember Kay's nose firmly up Sean Marks and the Nets FO's collective tukus. How the Nets were "doing it the right way" while LOL Knicks. Shameless disingenuous clowns. Like all the other gasbag phonies jumping on the next train that goes by. God I would love a win tonight.
We got throttled like a low lottery team.

I agree -- completely dispiriting. But that doesn't change what I wrote. Unless the Nets turn it all the way around which I suppose isn't impossible. Nonetheless I still strongly believe as horrid as the KD/Kyrie s#!t show is in Brooklyn, for the Knicks it would have been an insurmountable backed up toilet.
We note the improved play of the Nets since Kyrie was suspended. Very significant! And we note the majesty of Kevin Durant's talent. He however has the responsibility of making it a package deal with Irving (which the Knicks wisely wanted no part of). He also bears responsibility for coach killing Atkinson and Nash, playing GM, and just being a dick diva. I'll still take the 5 - 6 Knicks.

Nets are a 5-7 superteam. Yay.
