Was a fun game to watch - except RJ who was forcing things again.
Julius diving to the floor was pivotal
Clyde mentioned the other day that the road trip might actually be a good thing because the guys would all be together focused on ball and come together. I think he may have been right

Given Salt Lake City is not the titty bar capital of the world having a team dinner was not a good idea. Clyde had to paint a reason for hope. Thibs shortened the rotation is a big factor. Team did not implode thus making any “thibs is losing his team” not relevant. They came together.
Injurie happen and its a long season. Knicks give opportunities and Grimes will get his. EF agent in the nice way Im sure would be looking for a trade. EF is not performing in this system with this group. Does not mean he is worthless to another team.
I'm so glad I was able to stay up last night cause that was one of the most fun and enjoyable games in a long time! It's amazing what can happen when you simply play with energy and effort! 16 year losing streak in Denver snapped!
Game ball goes to Randle obviously. He was outstanding! Might have been his best game as a Knick imo. He kept us in the game in the first half with 24 points and made so many big plays in the second half with his defense. That dive on the floor and pass to Brunson for the dunk brought back Oakman memories! So wish Randle can like this more often. He'd be worshipped!
Awful game by RJ. Almost cost us the game if we're being real. I give the kid credit for trying to play even though he was sick but he was a nonfactor at both ends and shouldn't have been out there. This falls on Thibs. At least he didn't bring RJ back at the end of the fourth.
Good to see Rose have a good game. He gave us a big boost off the bench. Reddish made some nice defensive stops. I think Thibs should have switched him on Bones.
2-0 on this trip! One more and it's a successful trip!
Dang...bummed I missed this game. Too late to risk watching another beat down by Denver. Ah well, maybe I'll check it on rewind.

You know what is fun for me? And maybe it's just a phrasing thing but did Thibs really shorten the rotation or did he just see enough of Fournier and had given him enough of a chance to try to play well and Fournier failed?
It'll be a 10 man rotation when Grimes comes back, count on that.
It's a shortened rotation for sure but that's just semantics for me. They just stopped playing a bad player and Shorted Rotation sounds nicer.

This is my hope as well. I hope Grimes is still considered and given chances especially when RJ is having a mare.

Randle definitely had multiple night in '20 season where he came up big defensively. Its just been so long
Now this is what I like to hear. No more ISO's and give hustle on defense every game and I am a happy camper.
Thibs should be, and probably is in his own way, telling these guys that to a person none of them is all that great on offense that they'll get minutes because of that
Julius and Cam have bought into that. Some guys were already there eg IQ who played ferocious D on the last possession
unfortunately, EF just can't bring enough D even if he focuses on it. on top of that he's missing his shots too. He needs to snap out of it and also be ready in case a guy goes down.
Forgot to give props for IQs defense on Murray to end the game! Murray is a tough cover and IQ played perfect defense!

Both he and Sims had their turns! It was awesome!

Any possibility Fournier is in the rumored Crowder 3 team trade deal? C’mon man make it so.
Would you rather have Michael Porter Jr. and his 5 year $172M contract but with back issues or RJ on his 4 year $117M contract who shows up every game?

Porter and his deal represent "hey lets try and hope we get lucky" by management.
If RJ was 25 I would be really worried. He's still got some time to work on nuances and be a better player. I think we can see some adjustments in upcoming weeks as I expect to see him working specifically on 1) not missing so many shots and 2) not getting smoked on D. Lets be patient.

I would love to see RJ change his body and change his game. He could lose 20-30 lbs and keep working on his handle. More flexibility and speed would be a better direction for him as opposed to bulking up and getting slower. Just my dos centavos from a casual observer who don’t know shit.

I think you are spot on. No clue why RJ and his team thought it would be worthwhile to bulk up. It's insane
