With all the talk about Wembanyana, Henderson hasnt been getting the attention he likely would have in past drafts.
If the FO trades up for a better shot at a high pick. By the grace and virtue of the ping pong balls. We would have a better shot at landing Scoot than we would Wembanyana.
So would you give up some assets for a chance just to land Henderson? If so how much?
I would give up 3 unprotected first rounders, and one rotation player. If the FO decided a team's pick gave us a competitive shot to draft him.

I would give up five picks, 2 unproted, one swap and the Dallas/Wizards picks. Kid is younger than Ivey, but makes Jaden look like a member of the Maker family.

Yeah, Randle and Fournier too. I'd say Grimes, but I'm not sure he's even on the team.

I’m not unloading picks for a rookie PG when our most stable position is PG. I get Henderson is a possible game-changer, but I’d rather target an elite wing from this draft for slightly less cost.

You can play them both in the backcourt. Yes, JB is solid. Scoot has "star" potential. I wouldn't mind targeting a wing either, but Scoot is a few rings above the everyone not named Wembayama.

To a lesser degree Scoot might not be an instant star or one at all due to injury or off court situation. If so, Knicks gave away a big talent influx or other trade assets. Scoot is not DM. Donovan was a proven entity.
I can’t think of a situation where a team moved up 8-10 spots for a single top 3 pick. Does not mean it did not happen,, just can’t remember one that sticks out.
We assume that any pick can be tempted into being traded for but finding a team to actually do it is another.
Thus, its an exercise of a dream. Sure, lets do it. 5 picks. How many are ours? How many unprotected?

I want him to be good so bad but I just can't ignore it anymore. I can't. That contract might end up being a big mistake. He's lucky he's still 22, but I was really hoping this season I would see something stick. Its still early and he always starts the season bad but he has a lot of catching up to do.
