if you are implying that the front office is the problem, who hired them?

Look there are no miracle workers. Dolan hires the best in the business.
Phil Jackson was more effective. But the high expectations for immediate gratification kill all comers.
Rose needs a hungry counterpart not another in-grown buddy.

I was against hiring Rose, but his early moves seemed savvy. We've added some nice talent, made some good signings (I liked EF still do).
But the results are the results and this is year 3 of regression. Mitchell is probably going to come in tomorrow and put up 30+ on stupid efficient shooting. And we apparently had chance to get him, but valued Grimes and RJ too much?

Rose was a smart hire. However, when the FO is filled with yes men its no good. You need hell-raisers in NY or its business as usual.
No risk, no reward.
You keep Grimes, RJ can go.

No, he doesn't!! The last 3 guys he hired had 0 experience a teams president of basketball operations. They may have been the best in their business; Rose as an Agent, Phil as a coach, but not the best in the business that we needed them to be.

Winning makes you best in the Business. This ain't magic. It's having balls and luck and not giving a rat's arse about being nice, squeeky clean smiling faces.
Get some trouble in here.

They wanted RJ, Grimes and 1 of Obi or IQ. Then on top of that they wanted 3 unprotected picks and swaps. I am sorry but that is just too much. We would have nothing left over to improve our team after gutting it. Right now we suck with draft picks. With the trade the Jazz wanted we would suck with no hope for the future.

I thought that as well, and was initially against the trade. And maybe that is right.
But now it looks like a bad move to have passed.
JB
Mitchell
Randle
& filler might be enough to be 4 games over 500, which is basically where Cleveland is right now.

Believe its a mistake to leave out the years that would be added to the rebuilding process. As well as all the times Brunson would be knocked to the ground in the meantime.

I like how you think!
except the place wasn't haunted when Riley was here, before Dolan
I feel bad for all the kids who went to this game. It must have been the first game for some and they got to see that garbage third quarter - outscored 41-15. Worst of all you allow Tim Hardaway's kid to go off!
Of course the blame will be on Thibs and rightfully so he deserves some blame for not having his team ready to go in the third quarter and not making any adjustments but the real blame should go to the front office!

What did Riley win?
disqualify yourself from having an opinion on the Knicks with four words?
Seriously?
4 years. 223 regular season wins. A .680 winning percentage.
63 play off games. 35 wins. .556 winning percentage.
We should have such failure.
Simple, Knicks must offer Pat Riley whatever he wants to return to the team and control it. Of course, twenty years too late and Riley will simply dump all his bad Heat contracts to the Knicks and trade all good players and picks to the Heat. Imagine if Riley had just been given control years before

Been saying this for 2 seasons now.
Not a good look when a defensive coach can't get his team to play defense and or make the proper adjust to an obvious weakness in our scheme.
What is the scheme anyway to give up the three pt shot in an NBA where most rival teams can hit them with ease. ?
Was watching game and wife walked in with Knicks up +10.
She said what’s up - I said just waiting for Knicks to blow another big lead.
In what seemed like 5 minutes we were down 30.
This is the kind of loss where you trust nobody - you can blame Thibs but at same time entire team QUIT. So once again we have the wrong coach and a bunch of talentless, quitters for a team.
Right path is to fire Rose, WWS & coach, fire-sale roster for what you can get —- tank for best picks you can get…continue to collect assets BUT none of that will happen.

I am inching closer to what you think is the right path but I really want to see the team with a few changes before I commit to that.

Bring back Mike Miller.
Martin wants to weed out the weak minded players.
That was a response to my comment that Tibbs might be too intense and wearing players out. They’ve given up. Yes, horrible. Maybe our players suck.
But my point when I wanted to keep Miller was because I thought he was a good developmental coach for young men. Thibs is for later, when you’ve got veterans that have established themselves. Thibs is too much of an ask for our players where they are.
Miller reminded me of a college coach, and maybe that is what we need.
It doesn’t have to be anyone’s fault. Not the players, not the front office, not the coach, Thibs.
This is just a bad fit at this place and time.
