Knicks · NY MIL Trade (page 1)

So, Ian said the Bucks sniffed around on Cam and are shopping G Allen. What could they work out? I'd love that as a starting point.
franco12 @ 12/8/2022 8:12 PM
why would the Bucks look to trade Allen- he is really great.

The only thing Cam has is his size- that is one-sided unless we sent picks too.

Keep Grayson Allen and his punchable face off the Knicks.

Yep. Unless we can also add Draymond Green somehow.

Unless they are dead set on bringing Canaughton to the starting lineup I don’t get it. Allen seemed like a great fit.
Maybe Redish for Allen is to keep the Dukies on the roster?
Allen “punchable” as he looks kin to Ted Cruz.
But…..The kid can play. I admire his grit. He had to overcome a lot of bad rep and earn respect which he has on the court. Did that with hard work.
Does anyone have a back story on him and why he might being shopped if thats actually the case?

jskinny35 @ 12/9/2022 10:56 AM
I don't like G. Allen but could live with him if Cam is indeed headed out...yet we'd still have the logjam since Cam is out of the rotation and doubtful G.Allen won't be traded here to be out of the rotation. Others would have to be on the move as well or it would make no sense.

How about Cam to a worse team for a scrub we waive and we gain the right to swap draft picks for the higher one?

SergioNYK @ 12/9/2022 11:32 AM
I would rather trade Reddish for another young player on a team that's not getting minutes or a future pick. I don't want some mediocre vet like Allen taking minutes away from Grimes or Duece tbh.

Allen as sub SG/SF off the bench is more consistent then Reddish NOW.
I don't see him taking minutes from Grimes or Miles
THinking if IQ is traded this makes sense. IQ is a tweener. I appreciate his defense and Shooting. His playmaking is OK. If there is no path to his ascension because of Grimes then at some point culling the talent by consolidating or defer to a pick makes perfect sense.

He makes 8.5 this and next season. 27 min avg, about 10-11pts, shoots almost 40% from three career. 43% this season. Is 27, 6-5 big kid.
Reddish at 23 still has upside. We took a flier on him to play now. I like the kid but what is the objective with him and the immediate need?
What is Milwaukee's need and why they looking (if in fact true) Allen?

I think Grayson would compete for minutes from both Grimes and RJ - the offense is there - defense #s seem ok. Have probably only seen him light us up so no idea if he is any good - but would be a nice addition.

I would not trade IQ - his D#s are insane- I am sure his shooting form will develop/return this year.

Chandler @ 12/9/2022 1:53 PM

we need someone we can rely on to hit open threes late in the game -- keep coming back to D.Robinson. In theory it can be Fournier but someone at SF would be better

Yeah, I think they looked into it and decided to go in another direction. Allen is clearly more productive at this point.

The one thing in the back of my mind regarding this type of Cam for Allen trade is the second year on Allen's contract and if that's the reason MIL would want to move him in this type of scenario.

$8M luxury tax relief for next year but who knows.

Maybe. But if you have Giannis in his prime, the window is too short to consider such a move unless it's part of a larger plan to bring in more proven talent. They're also reportedly somewhat o Beauchamp and Middleton is also back. Don't see how Cam fits their situation now.

Grayson Allen is not built for NY. He doesn't have enough of an upside for me. All I see is an occassional 3 and controversial hard fouls.

27 min avg almost 11 pts. Not a core player. he is a role player. Good defender, good handle, makes plays and gots to rim well.
He makes 8mm this and next year. You get him and draft and develop others. Then you let him walk or trade for minor pick.
Nothing big here. Just a low cost player who passes and hits his shots.
Not built for NY? how is that?
